  1. Well done that man, looks like your half way to heaven as well. What landrover you got one of the older boxy ones like the farmers or one of the new ones that couldnt pull a greasy man out of bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. "Dickheads" saying you are supposed to be preserving the woodland, when all your doing is logging up a fallen tree that has been across the path for a good 18 months or so getting in everybodys way, and you have permission in the first place from the land owner. Next time I will tell them to p**s off or I will log them up!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Yeah man seen this saw before, wicked or what. Just imagine all that power in a smaller engine, would make life easier and more profitable.

    "Day off"

Anyone else got the day off cos of the snow and mainly the ice. My mate who I was supposed to pick up this morning said the gaffer said to knock it on the head as it would be to dangerous to make it to the farm, and no one else was going to make it any way!!!!!!!! The farm is pretty remote and has a long drive down to the sheds which not even a tractor can get up sometimes. Never mind eh, gotta take missus hospital to see the midwife anyway!!!

  19. I just had my STIHL 021 out to give a clean and sharpen the chain, and thought I would try and tweak her a bit as she was cutting out when idling. I tried to adjust her by the screw at the side and now she wont start at all, ive tried turning the screw back but to no avail. Any ideas or have I buggered my saw?
  20. Keep every reciept for everything, then once a month religiously sort through them and keep them logged by monthly order. Dont get an accountant there crooks. Do your tax return online its esier. Get the self assesment guide from the tax office and study hard, there is stuff in that, that you would never have thought of claiming for. Sort out a price with the customer before commencing work and have some sort of a contract, there are people out there who will try and take you to cleaners. Any extra work must be paid for, and treated as a seperate job unless you think it is worth while just doing as a favour. Give written quotations not estimates, stating in detail the work to be undertaken, the time frame, and cost. Also state how many days the customer has to pay for job ie- No later than 1 week from the date of the work has finished or 28 days which is usualy the norm. On the quotation Have your name adedres and telephone number, and any trade assocations and public liabilty insurance.
  21. Sorry to hear that one of ya kids is pooorly mate, hope they get better soon. Yeah weather is pretty bleak down here too, but saying that the farm has got plenty of work to keep us busy.
  22. Sound mate. Hows work got plenty on I hope.
  23. Getting cold down here, been below freezing most of the day on the farm, and windy windy. It could cut your bleeding face off. How far up are you shrek, my family are from Galston and Kilmarnock, only been there once but was really nice. The name is Coruthers, but alot of them moved down here top corby for the steel works hence why I am here and English and not Scottish although I dont forget my roots.
  24. Yeah man the tyres look like there a bit low, we got a Merlo Forklift at the farm and the front tyres were shite, when they got changed the tread was bout 3inches or so, the difference was unbelivable.
