  1. 1. book resource where arb/related books could be sold. 2.in the seventies scratch and sniff was very popular......
  2. many, many thanks for the advice, links and info' regarding my tractor. Seems hopeful! Best wishes, chris. (I realise its not aBIG problem compared with others. This is my fourth go at a tractor....first was a Fergie renovated near Norwich for about £2000,came home with the same cracked block it went with....gave it away this year.second was a dexter bought for £1200 sold for £500 running but faulty. Third is a david brown 780 livedrive? which is having to do everything from running a log splitter to cutting paddocks...)
  3. .....I bought a 70's Rumanian 445 tractor(based on a fiat?) after having been stood a while.Worked fine until a big service. A possibility is new oil may shift old oil from inner recesses leading to resultant (unconfirmed) big ends going. Q. Do I have it taken to bits and repaired,or save up for something else? what would be cheaper? in the long run.Regards,chris.
  4. .......okay so my old Raleigh Grifter Tandem soon to be back on the road!...But,would it be de rigueur OR faux pas to wear a leather jacket with colours?
  5. Yup,that would be my understanding......pretty sure rejuvenation pruning used to be a term for similar pruning. I would have put a link to the article but don't know how! Sorry.
  6. too wet today so jus' looking around t'net;regenerating hollow trees on a site called TREE BUZZ..........
  7. top tips one and all! 'Preciate 'em!......Now for the Poplars!
  8. twelve feet in circumference looks a bit optimistic.
  9. thanks, guys for the trouble to reply.I shall adapt the design offered.
  10. ...so,could a stout chain laid in the shape of a V and secured with road pins through the links make an effective ground anchor on a paddock with no vehicular accesss and no other anchor points?.....(just hypothetical...).
  11. Timbernut hi! site says your quota of PM is full? regards, chris h.
  12. between kings lynn and wisbech.I know I should build it myself, but that hasn't happened in the last ten years!
  13. ...can anyone recommend a shed/workshop company for a 30' x 15'? I'm in Norfolk(just).
  14. so..let guns be legal,ammo illegal............everyone happy.
  15. Apropos of not a lot.Im thinking of of the above may make an xmas prezzie for me. Wheres agood place to start looking? I have 9mm,410, and 12 bore shotguns, licence, cabinet etc. Has anyone used a punt gun?
  16. ......so,anyone felled an oak and left a giant marimba on site? Is it possible?
  17. so I need a big griddle to go over the fire pit in the roundhouse. Any ideas please. About 18" diameter would be nice.(hoping not to go down the route of getting a manhole cover and having the top skimmed)!
  18. not really arb related........though Sarumans' Orcs were enthusiastic tree fellers............ Should Gandalf have put Frodo on a giant Eagle (Gwaihir/Landroval) and flown him to Mount Doom? Seems that would have saved an awful lot of time......
  19. hi!i have a david brown 780 selectamatic livedrive,i wish to run a hydraulic log splitter,i get the oil from the trailer outlet, but where do I return the oil? anyone any ideas please.
  20. WAS sharp, but stupidly on site hoping for a quick fix......didn't work,do they ever? So probly chipped,if interested let me know and I will post. c.
  21. any use to anyone?incremental borer bit with square end fitting 18" for MORA not with spoon or handle, unfortunately has chainsaw file rammed in.
  22. I would use 4"x4" posts, but bolt on a section of 4"x4" to the front of your post. This will get you 4" away from the haunching, but put your closeboard to the edge. a cheap air compressor with a nail/staple gun speeds things up. If on a school route concrete posts in early,as once mine were all pulled out of line at 4pm
  23. .....seems to be a lot of argifying about top-handles.......surely a good carpenters saw and a blow lamp will suffice?
  24. ring 'em.....found anyone who answers the phone can look on the database, had a different one recently where no TPO or Conservation Area, but required a variation from planning consent.....
  25. I have a metre diameter ash ring and a straight road. If the ash represents the Sun, how far along the road and what diameter would other rings have to be to represent planets?(road is about 1km). ...just to give my children some idea of scale.....
