    My new site

    Really nice looking site!
  4. Has anyone got any spare space in there yard that they would be willing to rent to me near the Godalming, Guildford area? Basically atm all im looking for is a parking space for my LDV tipper as my drive at home now is very full with my brother just buying his first car. Im not really sure how much a space in a yard is worth so if anyone has a space to fill pm me with details and prices. Cheers
  5. Cheers for getting the prices mate ive had a busy day and didnt get a chance. I think i will go for the film faced ply as well seems pretty reasonable price wise. still un decided on how im going to set it all up yet? i will have to get my thinking cap on. Jump it might be onto something with his idea if i could make it work, as im prob only going to need the high sides for 50% of the time i use the truck. hmmmm desicions desicions.
  6. Im going to give my local dealer a ring tomorrow for prices. Not for sale what size sheet would you be after? What colour would you want? i will find out a price for you and post on here when i get home in the evening. So do you guys just stand the boards up and use the weight of the chip to hold them in place? ive got no experience in metal work so might be a bit of a struggle for me to make a frame to attach the boards to the body. Karl
  7. Cheers for the info nifty that sounds like good stuff, but ive tried a google search and cant seem to find anymore info on it or any suppliers? whats its main use? is it for kitchens and bathrooms?
  8. Picked up the LDV this evening! cracking truck for the money, drives like its done 10,000 miles. With a little tlc on the paintwork it will look good as new. Thanks again for the heads up Mozza. Dont know wether i should be starting a new thread for this but im now looking to put some greedy boards on it and was hoping you guys could answer a couple of questions with your experience. What ply to use? thickness? How do you attach them? would like to be able to take them off every now again is this possible? Cheers Karl
  9. Cheers mate ill let you know how the viewing goes and if i buy it!
  10. Cheers for all the replies! Log supplier i already have a van which is great for the tools and security as you say, but recently i have been getting a lot of hedge cutting and clearence jobs which is getting to be a pita. So i have decided to get the tipper to use as a second vehicle for the larger jobs. Mozza that ldv is perfect and its not to far from me, just called him and hes still got it so im going to have a look tomorrow. Never thought of looking on pistonheads always thought it was just cars for boy racers. Cheers
  11. I would say that if it hasnt had a belt change already you should definately consider having it done. I now change the belt on my vehicles every 50,000 miles as i have had one go before and it is very costly. Better safe then sorry!
  12. Basically looking to buy a tipper on a low budget, but im really struggling to find one in any sort of usable condition. So i just thought i would ask here to see if any of you guys were looking to sell one in the near future or if you had any ideas as to where to look apart from the obvious places like ebay and van trader? My budget is £1500 - £2000. It doesnt need to be winning the prettiest truck award but i just need something thats going to last about a year while i establish myself, hence the low budget. BTW live near Guildford, Surrey but dont mind putting in the miles for the right vehicle! cheers Karl
  13. +1 for the landline very important. have you come to a desicion yet? I prefer the logo in blue aswell it will really stand out on the van! Did you have a proffesional design the logo? looks very crisp. My little connect van has been at the writers today, going to pick it up tomorrow cant wait to see it. Karl
  14. I would stick with Stihl, ive had mine about 5 years and its never missed a beat. It may be £30 more but it could pay off in the long run.
  15. As the others have said mate mini digger (the teaspoon) with boards down should'nt have any problems.
  16. Thanks for the info tractorboy i will have a look into that. Seems a good price aswell
  17. Hmmm 'assworx' thats got a ring to it, i might go with that I will make sure that i check through the proof thoroughly! cheers armchair
  18. Cheers for the heads up Gareth i will look into that now
  19. Thanks for all the kind comments! Glad you all like it. Also im struggling to think of effective ways to advertise, obviously i will stick an ad in the local rag and drive around in my newly sign written van but what other options are there? What are your thoughts on dropping good quality leaflets through peoples doors? I dont want to come across like i live in a caravan if you get my drift. Obviously word of mouth is the best or of advertising but i need the initial clients to spread the word. Cheers Karl
  20. haha yes im only doing gardens and grass
  21. Hi im thinking of jumping ship and starting up my own Business and have put together a new logo. Basically im looking for peoples honest opinions of it before i take it to print, i am also planing to have my van sign written with the logo. So: Do you like the design? Does it catch you eye? Does it look professional? Does it get the message across? Please dont be shy as im lookin to make changes if needed. PS. ignore the scratches in the artwork these will be rectified! It can also be rotated view> rotate view> counterclockwise Regards Karl grass[1].pdf
  22. Thanks for all the replies Customer decided to have them both down in the end. suggested all the options you gave me but he didnt seem too keen.
  23. Hi there, Been a member of this great forum a while but this is my first post so thanks for all advice in advance! Basically i am a landscape gardener and one of my customers has asked me to have a look at a tree in his garden. He would like to keep it if possible and wants it to be held up by stakes, but this seems dangerous to me. So in a nutshell do i need to get someone in to take it down? can it be topped? or am i wrong in thinking it cant be held with the stakes? Pics of the tree attached. Any of your proffesional thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Regards Karl
