You don’t get it Alex. My Dad pointed out that tree to me 45 years ago. If you don’t believe how much this means to the community up there head up to a few local pubs with that opinion and see how you get on.

Those of you who aren’t from up there won’t understand. Whoever did this will have to leave Northumberland forever. They will get punched in the face every single time they go for a pint for the rest of their lives. There is simply no excuse.

There were no targets near the Kingston Lacey tree, it could simply have been cordoned off. I remember Jeremy Barrell was furious.

With titchy saws a thinner oil is usually best, and Stihl is usually pretty thin so that’s probably a good shout. I bought Mam a cheapo mini saw for busting up pallets etc. from Amazon. £50 inc charger and 2 batteries. It doesn’t even have an oiler. I just drizzled Co-Op veg oil onto the bar and told her to do that before every session. My 9 year old daughter thought it performed ok, in her safety sliders. IMG_8384.mov

I enjoy watching the women’s game Mick, but even Connie (age 9) knows it’s totally different to Prem level, and never will be. The BBC don’t seem to grasp that.

If it’s for proper tree work there aren’t very many companies to choose from, so a broker seems a bit like adding expense for no reason. Also for real tree work you won’t be able to get PL without getting EL as well.

I’m looking to knock one up soon. An rsj with haybob tines bolted to it is probably what I’m going for, something I can just pick up with the grab. Be interested if anyone has any pics of similar.

Those 3m ramps are just slightly too long to lie flat in the Transit bed, which I knew. I riveted some small brackets onto the bulkhead for them to sit on and snug up to the inside of the tailgate to make transporting them a bit easier.

I’d definitely agree with Mike’s post, people do seem to have developed a bit of an ‘Amazon Prime’ mentality when it comes to both quoting and working timescales. ’Hi, I’d like you to look at some tree work, I’m free this Thursday at 11, is that good for you?’ Errrrrr, funnily enough I’ll probably be at work then….

Being skint isn’t an excuse for behaving like a prick. I don’t think people have really changed, it’s just your tolerance level of annoying people just drops further and further the older you get. I don’t know who I hate most now, people who don’t want me to work for them, or people who do.
