  1. That's why I train mate. With all the tips I've picked up from Arbtalk I am definately not working as hard when climbing! Still charging the same rate for a day though, and I reckon we are doing loads more in a day now. Customers must love it!
  2. Just slung two long webbing lowering strops over my chin bar and tried doing dips off them. Bloody hell it's hard isn't it?
  3. Could I sling them off my doorway chinup bar then Martyn? And presumably they would be compatible with a dipping belt?
  4. Too wobbly for my weighted dips and expensive for what they are. Wouldn't mind trying a pair though. I'm going to have to spend £159 aren't I? Damn.
  5. If whales are so intelligent why do they keep swimming near Japan?
  6. Maybe you're right Mick. They might have improved since the late eighties when I last went! Might give it a go, but I still want to be able to do my dips at home!
  7. Cool. Has anyone tried eating it?
  8. Dave, I've had some right whingers down here complaining about the weight of the chipper on their precious block paving! Totally agree about the legal weight issue, but it's a lesser of two evils thing and the D/C definately wins on balance. It's only an issue on the bigger jobs. The smaller the job the bigger the profit margin IME. Pity they are so bloody boring! Reckon the ideal would be a set up like yours in tandem with a smaller set up for piddly domestics. Lets go into partnership!
  9. Thanks Mozza, looked a good 'un but no. is disconnected and I think they may have gone tits up!
  10. Mogs are the nuts, but not all domestic customers are happy with them on their drives. Could never go back to single cab Transit after buying a double cab. Reckon we save literally days not fannying about with gear, get to job, unload gear, chip into back, load gear, drive to tip, unload gear, tip, load gear, drive home, unload gear. No thanks!
  11. That is true, but I like the flexibility of being able to train whenever I want at home. Do the heavy stuff in my mate's garage gym a couple of times a week, but it's a pain if I miss it 'cos I'm working late or out pricing, which is more of an issue with the lighter nights now. And I'm too tight to pay gym fees!
  12. There's the problem. That's what I have done for years, but have just had a new kitchen fitted, and the corner has moved so it is over a weak joint. Don't want to risk busting the joint, or scratching the new oak doors with the weight plates. I don't like gyms, Mick. There is quite a high proportion of tossers in most of them. I don't just do dips, but they are such a core part of my training I can't do without them. Can anyone lend me £159? I seem to have spent all my money on a new kitchen....
  13. Anyone know a cheap option for bars to do dips on? Cheapest on tinternet so far is £159. Can't have some lash up contraption because it will have to live indoors and support 20+ stone for weighted dips. 2 chairs just won't do it. Must be at least 3 1/2 feet off ground because of dipping belt. And I am crap at welding.
  14. Nice job Tom. Very controlled. Soundtrack was even better!
  15. This is new to me, NFP, 4 phases etc. Can you elaborate a bit? Don't be frightened to over-simplify on my account!
  16. Nice one. The gold rings on my new Petzl Sequoia would complement your forks perfectly.
  17. Just back in from pub and I'm sure the little bu**ers have been in my wallet. Do I win a beer?
  18. Damn! Wrong forum! Janey can you quickly post a picture of your bike to try and cover up my idiocy? I sold my camera to buy a demi de biere in Chamonix last month.
  19. Some funky grain in there Stevie. Rip that saw up! If I leave now I can be there with my Alaskan mill on Sunday. We'll say it had to come down because it had Bulging Canker.
  20. Give me a shout if you want a log delivery Bob. Nice looking fire.
  21. Ever noticed how we all tend to have expensive hobbies? Shooting, snowboarding, surfing, travelling etc. You'd think money grew on bloody trees!
  22. Wow! What a great tree! Those bulgy bits are a bit dangerous Mrs. £1500 do ya? We'll be back next week to tidy up the mess...
  23. :001_tt2:Why did it have to come down Stevie?
