1. I can confirm that the Tackeroo site is caravans only though. Strictly no tents. I will have a word with a friend of mine who owns a garden centre on the chase (and its where I tip off) if he is willing to let a bunch of drunken arborists camp on one of his fields. I will post back on here hopefully tomorrow night and let you know.
2. My back garden could be available for a small fee but its on a slope and im going on Saturday and I live in Cannock.
3. sorry but I dont mean to be split hairs, but its jury not dury.
4. two fingers on one hand at an angle of 25 degrees to each other wasn`t it?
5. anyway you wouldnt really want to camp in my back garden as I live on a hill, I camped in the back garden once to try our new tent and I ended up rolling into the side of the tent all the time!!
6. Nahh I prefer Massey Ferguson thanks all the same
7. ok how about a can of red bull then!!!:001_tt2:
8. Can do I charge 2 quid a bod plus 1 can of coke a night but you have to pee over the fence on the neighbours garden.
9. I was an extra in the film the Memphis Belle and I met Sir David Putnum (producer), Michael Caton Jones (director), Courtney Gains, Billy Zane, Sean Astin (arse), Harry Connick Jr (jammed with him on stage inbetween takes, we did a version of I feel good by James Brown, I was on guitar), John Lithgoe. Two weeks ago I worked for Tom Hartley clearing the ivy from 2 beech trees so we could inspect them. He is the guy who sells cars, albeit very expensive ones, he has 2 Ferrari Enzos in stock at the moment and also a Bugatti Veyron
10. I`ll be there on Friday (day after I get back from Lanzerote...Yippee a holiday!!!). Don`t have to camp as I could prob walk there from home if I could be bothered with all that fitness lark.........nah sod it I`ll take the truck!! Ps the Tackeroo is a bit of a dump!!!
11. I`ve got one at the moment. Fantastic chipper almost bombproof. However the kohler engine although reliable is alloy so watch out for bolts snapping on older models as did on my first engine. I got a new engine from universal power for £1400 next day delivery fitted it myself and its like a new machine. Downtime was only 2 days I think. I also had the axle widened so its not going to top over like the standard ones do. Its all well and good converting it from a petrol to a diesel but you have to mess around finding an engine, getting someone to figure out how to mount it and get it to work with all the other gubbings, which would mean more downtime, and possibe parts being difficult to get. I can get everything for mine next day delivery!!
12. yeah I spotted some here in cannock the other day. Turns out its a leaf miner from a moth, nothing can be done about it. The moth came over from europe in 2002 and first struck in Wimbledon area and it has been spreading ever since!!
13. From what one person said its no coincidence that the logo is the letters LDV set inside a skip!!!! :001_tt2::001_tt2:
14. ok thanks for that I`ll avoid them then!!
15. Ok then how about these then?? are these any good???? I have a Cabstar at the moment but I need to replace it with something a lot better!!!! Any ideas Budget up to 6 grand...possibly 7...not a land rover.....or a transit (too pikey) and not a LDV too crap!!(sorry to anyone who has one).
16. Yep I have it too. real pain in the arse. I wake up through the night with pins n needles, only goes when I shake both hands to get the blood flowing again. I can almost forget playing the guitar at the moment and playing the xbox hurts like hell sometimes, thank god for pause buttons!!!!!! as for an op!!!! forget it. the only time I could risk having the time off would be winter but then with a long recovery time could i afford the time off?? Thats the problem with working for yourself!!!
17. I also had mine modified when I got it to have a wider axle now its the same track as a car so it goes over speed bumps easier and it wont tip over as easily.
18. I got it direct from Universal engine power ltd who are main Kohler agents. next day delivery too I was lucky as they had one in stock which meant I didn`t have to wait for 1 from america and that was at the time when all aircraft were grounded thanks to iceland!!!! Fantastic service would highly recomend them!!
19. sounds like a good buy, does it do mkv files??? looking at your list i suspect not!!
20. Cool whats the quality like??
21. Well I have one now and yes I have just had to replace the engine (Kohler petrol) but it does go like the clappers. not much to go wrong with them, can be difficult getting conifer through but thats what a chainsaw is for!!!! New engine was £1280 (fitted by myself, very easy) warranted for 3 years.
22. Maybe not but how long was your chipper out of action? Mine finally gave up on Thursday and I should be up and running on Monday. Only 1 job (today's) have I had to act like a gyppo and load all the brash on the truck by hand and it was 4 loads of conifer, fortunately it was only 5 mins to my tip site. However everything still needs to be chipped but that will get done on Wednesday, its my birthday:thumbup: on Monday so I'm not working that day, and I have another job on Tuesday so I haven't lost a single days work!!! All in all not too bad!!!
23. Thanks for the offers/advise guys but as Mesterh says its going to be too much hassle trying to get a diesel engine sorted and too much time wasted trying to get it sorted plus if its not a new engine then potentially I could be in the same position in a few days/weeks/months time. Plus I dont have the money to pay someone to fart arse around trying to get the engine working I ordered a new Kohler engine on Thursday afternoon and it arrived Friday lunchtime ordered a load of new bolts and stuff from vermeer and they should be here on Monday so I should be up and running ready for Tuesdays job!! The engine has cost me £1290 including delivery and including vat. Bolts and stuff around £50. Fitting is free, by myself. And the engine is warranted for 2 years.
24. am I right in thinking I would also need stuff like a radiator and so on?
