  1. So to continue from where I left off.......My first paid work for a couple of months and first time meeting someone outside home.I arrived somewhere near Fox Valley of all places.
  2. Thanks Andrew. It means a lot to me.The visors I shall put on the plain visor.
  3. And ready to roll.Off to meet an Arbtalker! (At a distance??)
  4. Have a look on Outwear's site for details on the Faceshields and I'll do a review on them tomorrow.I am chuffed to bits with this as it means so much to me.There are some very kind folk out there and I appreciate it greatly.
  5. I have to thank Anton himself for his kind offer to produce me such a fantastic gift and Andrew and the Outwear team who are like a family to me and I'll miss not catching up with them and Annalize at the Arbshow this year but if you are out there....Thanks!!!!! (And not forgetting Silky Europe for their permission ????)
  6. And of course everything was washed down, steam treated, sanitized etc..etc...???
  7. I will travel separately to site and keep distant from fellow Arbs. That is about as social as I will be getting for quite a long time yet.But even in the workplace I shall take precautions.I have surgical mask which is covered with a neck warmer for close encounters....And obviously I am a visor down kind of Arborist from the moment I get onto site until work finishes usually.I've mentioned before that I am so used to seeing everything through mesh. For me it is essential in this job.But wouldn't it be good to be able to add a face shield? Well thanks to Outwear I can as they have sent me some. They fasten directly onto the Visor and i think they work out at a couple of quid each.
  8. I saw that Protos/Outwear posted this pretty cool picture showing their visor printing technology.Mr Anton Pfanner himself promised to make a Silky Fox one for me when I met him at the opening of Outwears new headquarters.I wonder if the offer still stands?
  9. So I hear Mick? Hopefully I can begin the Ecological climbs then.In the meantime I have a dismantle tomorrow. All new kit to use including my boots(I will be wearing trousers though) and I'll also have the chance to see how handy the flip down shades are.Always heard good things about them from others Pfanner fans.
  10. I have added a couple of new factors into my tree kit in light of events but for the moment I shall keep distant but enjoy the fresh air and the sun,get a good exercise regime going and keep my eye on any work going in the near future via t'internet.Stay safe Arbtalkers.
  11. Making the most of the warm weather yesterday and the multitude of live webinars that are going on right now I tuned I to the FORST discussion on working now.My old mate Paul Elcoat was on as was Simon Rotherham from Beechwood.Really found it interesting also to hear from others on the Panel.Definately gave me hope for our Industry.I was supposed to be climbing for an Ecology company this year but events put a stop to that.
  12. The dog is in great shape but I am missing work and the gym very much so I am happy to hear that we may be able to take more exercise so I am going to be cycling every day which is my favourite calorie burner.Although as I have mentioned having the City riverbanks and woodland to myself and Toby for an hour or so each day over the last two months has been something I will never forget.
  13. My old Ma has been introducing me into the ways of bread making. Both old fashioned and modern baking ways. She ordered 15 kgs of flour of E bay and also recieved a further 15 lbs for her Birthday. We will not be running out of bread anytime soon.
  14. My brush with gardening didn't last long now that the Trees have become to dominate the surroundings.I'm cool with that. They will always be my passion.Durham was voted the greenest city in the U.K recently (Not for it's green cover) although it could maybe take that title looking at it today. It is nothing short of magnificent....My time has been spent during social lockdown with a different type of flower recently.
  15. The Birdsong has definitely become my alarm clock these days. That,s pretty much the only sound you can hear in my neighbourhood, day or night.I love the pleasant cacophony ???
  16. I shall keep it there until I return to work I reckon.❤??
  17. I,ve never been bored throughout this time. When I,m not with the dog I am able to take care of the things around the house or meet my Grandchildren online. Most of the last eight weeks or more have been spent here.Other than my car everything I have is contained in this small room...I do look forward to the day I can get back to tree work but until then I am enjoying quite a solitary life in a very clean and quiet City.Like i said most of our inhabitants have left weeks ago.Without the Pubs or restaurants being open means our streets are empty.Although the North East has had some of the highest numbers affected by Covid-19 Durham City hasn't.There is hardly ever anyone about and people have kept isolated and distant It,s a wonderful place to be in this social lockdown.Bliss....I did get involved in a celebration of sorts yesterday albeit at a distance. But somehow it seemed rather fitting to experience it in silence except for the wonderful birdsong that has been the backdrop of this year here.My vintage flag got a chance to see daylight.Although I always think of myself as an Englishman I feel very connected to the British Isles and have a great respect for the Millions of people here and abroad who had to endure far worse conditions than we shall ever know.
  18. I get easily sidetracked?Great rainbow last night by the way.....
  19. I may have a go at it maybe in later life.I,m not very good a standing/sitting still for long periods of time? Matthew.J.Norman is my go to splice man.? Check him out or his site
  20. So there is do much for me to do at this time...I am certainly having a relaxing time.Theraputic even. And this weather?☀️ T shirt, shorts and Flip flops weather up here? Yesterday was marvelous.I am lucky to live where I do.Yes it's a ghost town, but that suits me.Another Groundhog day in Paradise.Stay safe Arbtalkers.
