  1. Right then, i am a husky man all day long, but i have had the opportunity to be sponsored by Makita to do the loggers competitions. I've had two of them for comps and they both came from Germany. What a saw! I have a 390xp which is ported. Both the in and out ports have been tweaked, the air filter and the air box have all had treatment and the 7900 eats it big time!!! The husky is runing at 13600 but 7900 is kicking out 18000. All my saws run aspen fuel, this just my in put..

  7. HI all 372xp all the way
  8. Oh YES but i have them shiped with standard handles
  9. Oh well, all my saws come from a littel shop in oregon and none of them have cat's and all go like the clappers and the exhaust port is at the top on most and half as loud again as uk saws.
  10. Hi there boys and girls, had a quick read through a few of the posts, i think it all depends on what chain and what kind of wood your cutting. All the saws need to meet regs, so there all pretty good, but on personal experience i had one of the first ms441's. Really smooth in the timber but didnt find it that comfortable, the rear handle was at an odd angle and the grip was a little thin plus it fell to bits when i chucked a 24" bar on it. As far as Husqies go, try and get hold of an american spec 346xpg. This saw is an animal for its size and weight. It keeps up with the 372 no problem!!! And i recently sold my 357xpg on ebay as i was never using it cause the little 346xp was out performing it. Husqie all the way for me, especially the american stuff. Plenty of boll**ks. I run a 15" bar on mine, never let me down. Best of luck with your search, go to a couple of dealers and pick up lots of different sized saws, check for balance, grip and weight, remember to stick the bar size that you'll be working with most of the time on to the saw so that you can get a true feel for it. At the end of the day its personal choice which saw to go for. But the small husqies will seriously out perform anything in its class. Keep cutting mateies, Petemate!

  16. Alrighty there, yeah i love my 390, polished and ported with a 36" bar and lpx chain. It's what gives me my perfect physique Use it for snedding and general prunning, i keep the 346 for the heavy stuff its nice and light you see so my little arms and shoulders dont hurt!!! No seriously, it was just what was in the back of the mog.
  17. Cheers boys for your comments! I'm like what you may call a swiss army knife, when its all out its pretty darn big :) When you push everything in its pocket sized !!!!! I've actually sold the bright green one and replaced it with another u900 hard cab. The one in the bottom picture is a mate of mine's. This thing is mint, its took him 5 years to build it so far all out of new parts!!!!! We're just in the middle of making our own front links for u900's and we might have a go at selling a few of them for £800 brand new. Havn't yet picked up the new mog, will be here next weekend. But this has the 130hp engine in it and a 6tonne unimog winch on the front and its full AG spec Dont mind driving these really, they bom along alright 45 - 50 mph no probs. It can tow considerably more than the landy can!!! And yes it is a replacement for the landy!

  23. Hi guys, cheers for all the good wishes, oh my god am i bruised!!! I've got a fractured collar bone, fractured ribs and the metal holding my left wrist together (from a previous accident!!!) has dislodged itself! I think the landy is pretty written off, all parts are available! No the biker didn't stop b***ard! And i ripped my new husky forestry jacket, well pi**ed off!!! I think a two week recovery period is a little optomistic!!! But you know how it is when you have plenty of work on and a contract deadline on the horizon its a bit of a nightmare, my heads up my arse, bloody tablets drs given me make you very mellow:001_cool: only had a couple of hrs kip since saturday morning when this happened, cant belive the pain and to finish it all off the xbox has also decided to die just to add insult to injury!!!! Christ almighty i've been hurting and i know about being hurt after being stabbed, shot and run over by a 7series bmw doing 60mph+. Once again thanks to all for your support, its really appreciated.
