It would make far more sense to put solar panels on new industrial buildings near the big cities and keep the land for grazing, or plant some trees. Think about how many massive crappy new distribution and warehousing centers there are everywhere. The square acreage must be huge. All it would need is a bit of roof structure strengthening work. There's also a bonus of the power generation being close to the power consumption locations.

    Jokes???

    kin 'ell! 🀣
  3. Yeah I remember being blown away the first time I used a Silky, a true revelation. I can't imagine trying to use a bow saw up in a tree. Must have been cumbersome and awkward as hell. That's another big advantage of a Silky, the low vertical profile of the blade.
  4. Yes, I'd guess you're probably right, based on my experience with the small Silkys. The price comparison might be the opposite though, I wonder if you could buy a decent old cross cut saw for less than a new Silky. The downside of bow saws are that they're prone to jamming in larger diameter timber, and also they can do a vicious jump onto your opposing forearm, if given the chance.
  5. Yep, updates on stuff like this are always welcomed on here. πŸ‘ I'll be interested to see how the old school saw turns out.
  6. Very nice. Do you get enough head, (so to speak!), when it's almost empty?
  7. Wordle 1,103 4/6 🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟨⬜🟨🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I needed that. After yesterday's effort.
  8. Hot summer weather fayre this evening. Green stuff freshly picked and beans from last year.
  9. Nice work. How row between neighbours created one of this city’s most loved tourist attractions WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK Rubberneckers still visit the quiet cul-de-sac - where houses sell for around Β£220,000 - for a good look Google Maps WWW.GOOGLE.COM β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜† Β· Attraction touristique Who the hell bothers to write reviews like that?
  10. They're parasites. The problem is the law is behind them so nothing much we can do.
  11. I'd suck up the Β£600 and put it down to experience. Insurance companies are legit crooks. They'll use anything to wriggle out of paying, they'll probably love the fact that you didn't tell them about it initially and use that against you. Thinking about it: you should probably tell them anyway, even if not claiming. There's sure to be a clause somewhere that invalidates a potential future claim if you don't.
  12. The new plants are paying dividends. Obviously loving this warm weather as well. It's definitely worth replacing them every few years.

  14. Thanks Doug. I was about to sack the rest of the day off and go back to bed until tomorrow.
  15. Wordle 1,102 X/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 Stupid second letter, I often forget to try it. Incorrect American English didn't help either. Not that you can excuse a crap day!
  16. Yes, continental type dry heat is certainly easier on the body. I'd still rather have a few more days of this though, to make up for the months and months of crap wet and cold weather we had for most of the first half of this year.

  20. If just feels like a big failure of organised religion to me.
  21. This is a tragic, ridiculous situation At least 1,301 people died during Hajj - Saudi Arabia WWW.BBC.CO.UK Most were unregistered pilgrims who walked long distances in intense heat, officials said.
  22. Wordle 1,100 4/6 ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Nice word. Nice place, (I'm sure the inhabitants would say).
  23. This is a feisty little number..Tasty too. I found it on the West Indian aisle in the supermarket. They must have got a taste for it.
  24. That's the best way to do it: stones and soil for wooden posts, (or hardcore better still), rammed in hard hard, and concrete for concrete posts. Wooden posts concreted in invariably rot in a narrow band at ground level. Two inches above is fine, two inches below is fine, it's just that interface where you've got water and air present.
  25. Wordle 1,098 3/6 🟨⬜⬜🟨⬜ 🟩⬜🟩🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I'll have that.
