    Help please

Thanks guys. I just looked at soem other photo online and it looks different to inonotus dryadeus, but descriptions sound right and its common on oak. I'll go with that unless anyone has any other ideas? Seems a slow death is ahead for this tree!? That area of bark in the picture is quite new its covering a large vertical scar which has wood pecker exploration holes at the top, so some soft heartwood is already present. Its overhanging a road on an estate open to the public. Will program it for removal.
  3. As I remember Steve it was a day job! Took a while for the fire to bed down!
  4. I'm not good at these! Maybe they are on here already, look like peaches, a bit fuzzy and at the moment they are dripping! Growing on bark that is covering an old wound on a Turkey Oak.
  5. This could go here or in the Dogs picture section
  6. That bit above takes three of us two days (after 4 years of practice!), then there another two section that are 2man days each and loads of box hedges aswell! Security issues here too but nothing given away by the picture!
  7. The first half is done, its all boring but nostalgic! I remember the boots we had, Jahlberg? I think. They looked like timberlands so in 1994 they were the business. After work, unclip the chaps and straight down the pub with sawdust in your 501 pockets!! [ame] [/ame]
  8. Sorry I was being slow there, its not a good car you need its a good pub! Any old car will do!!
  9. When are you next trimming it? Have you done it yet this year? I can arrange collection of clippings or at least find out if its not too late (July August is preferable) and put you in touch with the guy who does it. saves you taking them away and makes a good impression for your clients. Heres my annual one
  10. You want two things in life, a good car and a good pair of girlfriends. If your not in one you're in the other.
  11. Exactly, and be able to reverse it! I can find plenty of climbers to break things, forget things etc but good groundies are rare, especially with a rescue ticket, problem is though, if they are not that good at climbing then the rescue ticket is just a ticket not an actual ability to rescue anybody from any situation but then again some reasonable climbers would struggle in some situations.
  12. A good reliable groundie that you can send to keep an eye on the climber and take care of everything from customer to kit is worth good money. Pay the climber less and tell them there just a climber, the groundie is in charge!
  13. Exactly so how much "work" would get done in that time?
  14. No its crap! But its 1994, I think its a valauble part of our history, not even a mobile phone then and deff no internet!
  15. The way I look at stuff is not how long it would take but how many of them you would do in a day in different locations not too far apart. If your saying it would only take an hour then that means you would do eight of them in a day? 150*8 =1200 thats a lot for a day!! The fact that your pricing it at 150 means you know full well its a third to a half (maybe half a friday) of a day, as you would only do two or three of them in a day, so lets step pretending its an hours work, theres no such thing as an hours work!
  16. You won't see any quality climbing I assure you of that! Pete, how can I turn the quality down, its coming off VHS so it aint good in the first place! My computer is storing it as an MPG ( at 742MB) but its still VHS quality. Its only 15-20 minutes, I'll have a go at recording short section. If nothing else, at least I try to create some suspense!!!!
  17. =280 + vat Hours work, plus clean up, plus travel (not for me obviously but anyone within 20 miles) plus tea break = half day = 280
  18. After 36hrs and many attempts it aint gonna work! Is there a file size limit for youtube? I guess there must be, the file is 700M somethings? I'll re-record it in smaller sections when I have time!
  19. Do you send the clippings to make breast cancer treatment? I've got my annual big yew hedge to do in the next couple of weeks, been putting it off since beginning of august.
  20. I had a harness nicked that was hanging over the tailgate while we were in the truck having lunch. But it was ok, it was a skybelt!
  21. Sold on lies.... They wouldn't stand a chance in court, good for you!
  22. The only thing you get from advertising in YP is people who don't know what they want. I want to work for people who do know what they want. The only way I could get rid of YP was to not pay the bill. After a year of chasing me they said it was going to court, I phoned and asked for the court date but they wouldn't give it to me. A few months later they said it was going to court again, I phoned and spoke to someone a bit higher, and said if it went to court I would state the I was miss sold due to the lies I was told by the salesperson who claimed to be a marketing/advertising expert with as much experience in her field as I had in mine. I suggested that she be available as a witness they said she no longer worked for them. Case closed your honour. As a back up I would have said that I had two ex sales reps that I had slept with that would testify that they knew nothing about advertising, but I didn't get to that bit. Being mis sold something is a serious misdemeanor, banks are in trouble with it over selling loan protection to those who wouldn't qualify for it etc. I say take out the ad but don't pay for it, if it works and you want another then pay up but all you get is cheapest quote type jobs so they have no profit so the other jobs are paying for the YP ad, pointless. Rant over!!
