  1. No it was the guildford one, same year though I think.
  2. Sounds good! I wouldn't trust myself to get the right thing on ebay, so I leave it the pros. Good for you to have a mate like that!
  3. I remember someone on here sayign how rubbish the dual mass flywheels were and that they should be changed. I didn't really know what a dual mass thingy was. ANyway I have been having clutch troubles on the LDV, and finally it packed up at the end of last week. I could just get 1st and 2nd but not allways and it was hard to get out of second so I kept stalling it! Eventually I had to start in the gear I wanted and just go! I think I have the best mechanics in the world!! 1.5hours, new clutch and standard flywheel fitted while you help yourself to tea and biscuits!! So having looked at the old flywheel I understand a bit more about it. Its in two parts, hence dual mass, and it serves no purpose except maybe making the truck smoother to drive. When the clutch wears down it tends to ruin the flywheel as well, so both need changing but the dual mass one is not cheap, plus you still need a new clutch. There is a conversion kit which consists of a clutch and a standard single piece flywheel and this kit costs less than the DM flywheel on its own. So its a no brainer! My advice to anyone with the DM sytems on their truck (LDV or Transit) get it changed as soon as you have any clutch troubles. Once the new flywheel is on you will only ever have to change the clutch in the future. Costwise, I got charged £327 for the kit, and £120 for labour.
  4. The first pic was the old truck remember, not this one!! Not too difficult to improve on that old thing!! The only really good thign about LDV's is the cost. This one was £2600 for the flat bed truck with 34K miles on!! Bargain! "to the average domestic customer goes straight over their head. " Good!! I don't like the average customers much! But your right, I will have to list some services I think.
  5. Its taken me about 8 months to get round to putting some sign writing on the truck. I still don't know what else I want to put on there but I though I should at least get the basics up! So there is still space for some more, I'm open to suggestions! A list of services provided would be the most likey thing to do. Anyway its an ongoing process, the next thign will be a roof rack......just give me 8 months to get round to it.
  6. The spelling has now been corrected!
  7. Three extension poles in the combi tool is about as long as it get. The hedge in the pictures above has now been felled!! Much easier than trimming the thing every year!
  8. Thats some pair of high heals Rupe Well you know me, any excuse!! You still need to climb up inside to get the tope though, not many tall hedges that can be done off ladders including the tops.
  9. Have you spoken to proclimber? I know they are not on their website but they might still do them or be able to if Nod doesn't/can't. Mines coming out to N.wales this weekend, better than a tent anyday!
  10. I've got hedge trimmers that will do 4.75m ! the the ladder is used for bigger stuff. All you need is a triple ladder that wil go into an A frame with an extension. probably more like £169.99 but will do everything.
  11. You either need a portaledge as suggested, or the hammock type that are called "tree boats" some come with a tent attachement. Proclimber used to do them and would be a good place to start. Or New tribe in the states. I think Nod deals with New tribe so he might be able to get them, don't know for sure. Nod is at Treeworker.com Heres a link to New tribe TB home
  12. Lime and a Lime next then? Apple an an apple would be too easy though!
  13. Oh I sent him a graphic with the full logo/text etc. He had to re do it on a different program before he could print it big enough and he types out the text instead of pasting it and missed out the "t". It is getting put right tomorrow. Since I've been asked I'll put up the picture......... it is wrong on all four sides of the truck!!
  14. Yep, its all good, and it is hard choosing what to go for, and not nice when someone critisises it, or points out a spelling mistake which had gone un-noticed!!!!!! But, Treevolution is not called Tree : volution. The play on words does not need spelling out.
  15. I think your right, but is the company called treetment? no need for the punctuation, the web address looks fine, I'm just not sure what Tree :tment is for. Call it Treetment and leave folk to work it out. I'm still in a bad mood but have just been to see signwriter and he is doing it again tomorrow (only had it done yesterday!) Can't go to work till its done anyway cos its also needs a clutch, going for that this afternoon. Grrrrr!!!!!
  16. Whats a "tment"? Is it a scotticsh thing? I get the "treetment" idea, its not great but I get it. But why seperate the Tree and tment with a : ? Are scottish people not clever enough to work out that treetment is a play on words, so you've had to seperate it out? If so then why isn't the website tree:tment? And is the capital T in the web address due to auto correction of the text software? Mine does that, after www. it then assumes you want a capital after the . it can be corrected afterwards. BTW I'm in a bad mood cos my signwriter can't spell "arboricultural" so its all got to be done again!
  17. We used to use a big beech at westonbirt that had been used for the workclimb in the European comp of 2003? I think thats right. All you need is some tape at each target (or flowerpots ) its up to you to know that you reached them properly, no point in putting bells up. Usual time allowed for a workclimb is 5 minutes for a big tree and maybe 7minutes for a massive one. 10 minutes on you first go is v.good though!!
  18. I've just sent to application off...........
  19. Get friendly with a consultant near you (one that doesn't do tree work as well if possible) and recomend him for this type of work and he should in turn recomend you to carry out the work that he advises. As long as you are properly qualified and insured, no consultant would be ahppy to recoemend someone unless they are up tp scratch, but if you can get a good working relationship going then it could be a good for both parties.
  20. Just sent my application off today.
  21. If you do reports then you would know what to do, if you don't do reports then, well, don't.
  22. Thats about it! It can mean lifetime of the product, so if after 10-20 years its worn out then the lifetime of the product has expired. In the case of Karrimor, the company has been sold at least twice since then and the brand is now owned by Lonsdale who are selling karrimor gear cheap in many of there highstreet chav stores. Anyway they do not recognise the old gaurantees. and karrimor as a company does not exist. Is Gelert an actual company or just a brand name? Who would actually honor the gaurantee? And in 10 years who would honour it?
  23. You'll struggle to find any chainsaw chaps here, its all trousers (pants) for proffessionals, maybe some DIY places sell chaps for homowners. Graft is hard work, and sallopettes are for skiing in the 80's! As for a general glossary of terms! You have no chance! I don't understand what anyone says most of the time so you have no hope.
  24. Don't get too excited about lifetime gaurantee!! I think "lifetime" can mean anything the manufactorer wants it to mean. It certainly does not mean "lifetime of the person who buys it". Its a made up term that has no real meaning. My Karrimor rucksak that I bought in 1988 had a lifetime gaurantee, its completely battered now, do you think they would give me a new one?
