  1. Fair point Logrod. I did get told the same thing. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. I should clarify a little. Gym work, as far as upper body, is out. I'm not allowed to have my shoulders being pulled forward. The doc reckons that, even with doing the physio (which is a theraband routine) this will not fix the underlying issues whilst I continue to do the job I do. So I could give up the job I've done since I was eighteen but chances of that are slim. I could push for the desk job, which I can't stand the thought of. I can have the surgery or I can continue with the theraband to at least ease some of the problems and then just suck it up and get on with it. Several options at least and something to think on. 3. Thanks for the tip woody. Just started looking at a few sites. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. You sound like you speak from (possibly a bad) experience Stephen. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Yeah that's the worry Stubby. Struggling to get my hand above chest height now without some reasonable pain but spoken to two people already that have had the surgery. One no better and one worse. The comments so far are making me think to look at alternatives but not sure what. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. To be fair Huck, the physio and the doctor have both said that the strengthening exercises won't work because of the movement involved in the job but the 5% chance of a cock up even by a good surgeon is a little concerning. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. You and me both silky. That's just what the physio told me off the results oft he MRI, X-ray and ultrasound. And thanks for the sentiments. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. OK gents (and ladies). Been going to the quack and physio on and off for a couple of years now for a shoulder injury. The main details are; partial dislocation, subacromial impingement, inflamed bursa, damaged AC joint and bone spurs. The quack and previous physios have put me on a strengthening program which, to be fair, I didn't follow very rigidly. My new physio is leaning towards surgery to remove the ac joint and bursa completely. Anyone had the op and if so, what was the recovery and success rate like?
  9. Same as above. Dries quickly and makes excellent kindling. Easy splitting too.
  10. Same here Nepia. This is one of the few left to grow to its potential. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Removal of this Black Beech today. It had been previously topped for the view. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Photinia "Red Robin" surprisingly for Taupo, untouched and in full flower. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. One of the locals decided to help us out over the weekend by trimming a few of our street trees that were blocking his view. This despite being left a leaflet in his post box telling him that the public are not allowed to touch council trees. Unfortunately, this is an ongoing problem in Taupo. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Hoping that first pic wasn't what's left of the champion tree Ian. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Maybe that's why he wants an estimate for the work. Easier to get a local to price it and do it while still he's providing a service to the customer. I dunno but either someone wants the job or they don't. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Would have thought it would be smart just to PM the guy. Might be a job in it and possibly further work. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. The big fella is on the cheaper stuff. He's a dustbin and will eat almost anything. The smaller female is on a special diet due to Bone spurs on her spine. At the moment she's burning though £45 worth a week. He's about £10-15 a week, plus bones, scraps, cats, small dogs etc. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. Last bag of food was $175 which will last one of em about two weeks. Feeding em is OK, cleaning up after them.............not so much. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. How long did they spend running around the use with the rucksack stuck on their head? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Big sooks didn't like the cold water.
  21. A couple from the hundred and fifty or so that we took.
  22. On your advice, I visited both. Drove down from Lincoln and Newport and parked up at Arcata for a couple of nights. Did both the parks along with the trees of mystery ( had to do it). The info centres were really helpful with maps and advice. A couple of places we had to share with screaming hoards of kids but most we were able to have to ourselves. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  24. I think the wife got a photo of the steam donkey. The hotel looked quite cool too. At one stage I walked into a grove of massive trees, lay on my back and looked up. Quite extraordinary how small it made you feel. Also found a banana slug, which seemed to fascinate some kids on a walk. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. Treescape have a branch based in Rotovegas. Not sure if they're looking but I know one of their foreman is leaving and they might be looking for a guy to train up. Not glamorous work but its good country for hunting, fishing etc. if you're interested PM me and I'll send you the project manager's details. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
