  1. The wife and i are hoping to hloliday in november at the lizzard i will let you know nearer the time maybe we could meet talk tree talk haha.

  3. Tomoz i am going to wire any new early purple orchids i went to look today and 25 fallow deer ran out oh dear. Then i have got to go and brash a compartment in a large wood, then same as you spraying and grass cutting.

  4. We are HLS so i am busy cleaning ponds putting livstock back in meadows hedges with 6 metre margins things like that. the woodmans group i will try and put more on after christmas. Have you got dormice where you are?

  5. We have got a nursery near here selling trees and shrubs of local provenance i supply him with acorns from my veteran trees he sells them as his heritage range.

  6. We have got three events on sundays so it is grass cutting and strimming to keep everything spik and span. Then i am going to slow down a little and try and have a week off.

I don't let gamekeepers decide nothing and we don't have a forestry consltant but we do have a land agent but he does not know an ash from an oak. true story this he took me in rondwood to mark up two or three oaks to sell as timber trees he marked one and it was an ash he said no it is not ash trees have smooth bark the tree was at least 300 years old with deep fisures.

  21. Well i have a hedge to plant not much wood going out but plenty coming in for next year. will have a chat sometime when you get a break from being busy. I had a big oak come down last weekend in the wind that was nice work.

  22. What a good picture of the wood anenomnes. In all of my woods i only have one plant. But i have lots of early purple orchids. Sounds like you had a good day

  23. What do you do with the large poplar trunks Ben? I have a lot of them but don't really know what to do with them LOL

  24. What sort of work do you usually do in the summer as we cannot work the woods now in the summer months. What are you doing for christmas?

  25. What wood do you use for your stakes when hedge laying and where do you sourse it?
