  2. Thats what I'm banking on,just hope its obvious that it wasn't something that I should have spotted
  3. I've just scored the bore to hell on my MS660 for the second time in 10:confused1: months and am very suspicious of the reason. I religiously run my fuel mix at 40:1 on either sthil or husky oil. All my other saws are fine. Why would a new machine which has been serviced by a quality agent do this. Maybee its just me but I'm losing confidence in this particular model. I took it into Jonsie today to check it out, it will be very interesting to find out the results. Has anyone else had anything similar ?

  5. I have heard that Pilates is very good and also find it hard to find the time. I was going to get the Wii fit board which gets you to do the same movements and strenghens the core muscles, but they are sold out at the moment.
  6. I use a guy near me called Dave,he can do almost anything from chippers to machining parts for the Airbus A340 and he is really cheap. He put a tipper and barn doors on my crewcab sprinter for under £400.00 He is in Waltham Abbey Junction 26 m25 tel 019926751515 He also has a mate called Tony who does electrics

  8. Thanks guys, I will mull it over with a few glasses of red in Spain, may help.........
  9. Thanks for the info, I will be very interested in your progress. At the moment I am on a series of tablets that help sleep at night etc.... Are you still climbing like me? or are you able to take it easier? Has anyone mentiones incapacity benefit dare I say it (as I can't think of anything worse). Do you know any others who have had the op and carried on working in the industry for many years later? I know I have a lot of questions but it is encouraging to know that I'm not the only one. I won't let it affect my diving, off to northern spain this week, if I couldn't dive I would be even more depressed!! Thanks, hope you find a suitable answer to your back also. Pat
  10. Hi Justin, I just came back from the specialist today who gave me the option of the operation to fuse the three lower vertibrae or to have the injections and then physio. Have you had the injections? did they help? or have you just run out of options? I am interested and frightened about my own back especially after reading previous threads and comments. My specialist in Bishops Stortford said if I had the op it would give extra wear and tear to the rest of the vertibrae, any comments? Pat
  11. Be careful with the tens machine, I used one for a while,it works to remove the pain and loosen the muscles but can aggrevate the joints and make the muscles even tighter the next day. Since I saw the doctor he put me on co-codamol, Arthrotec and diazepan to take at night, works a treat. Try only working three days a week, this also gives me enough to support my family.
  12. Hi all, during the time in the tree industry I must have gone through tonnes of watches. Hends falling off, straps breaking etc... Has anyone found a reasonable watch that will put up with the vibration, rigors of the job,and won't cost the earth?
  13. Thanks for the welcome, sorry some of you may have to remind me who you are as I have a really bad memory.... things are good since the Corporation of London wish I had left before I reached my 30's (back joints and all that!!) I heard that they use outside contractors for most of the roadside work now and the latest superintendant is in the process of being fired for missuse of funds!!! No I'm not one of the greenh brigade I just find great satisfaction of using the cheapest method of running my equipment. And to answer the other question yes the company is known as Height and Light(tree surgery )Ltd
  14. Hi all, just to introdue myself I have a small company in Essex, I a always looking to reduce costs and it may be of interest to you that you can produce your own bio diesel very cheaply. The company is called Golden Ray and is based in High wycombe, they will sell you a machine for about £900 which converts old veg oil to bio diesel, it takes about 3 hours work to produce 50 litres I just set the mahine running at night after a days work and then all you have to do is remove the residue, wash the oil and put it in the truck, the costs work out to 15pence per litre plus my time.... I would rather do that than give extra money to Gordon!! If you want any more details look on ebay pat
  15. Have you ever stopped to look at the general workings of a tree, photosynthesis and all that ? Did it come about by chance or design?
