  1. If anybody is intersted look up this site. The title is CS45 Arboricultrual Ground-Worker. It is everything I do in a normal day. http://www.nptc.org.uk/assessment-schedules/
  2. Use a Bandit 150 which can take up to 12" of wood, variable feed speeds, double clutch and very little down time. Tows behind the truck and I can reverse it in to just about anywhere. Used a Bandit 65 which I didn't like because it only had 1 feed wheel instesd of 2 like the 150 and this made the wood kick up a lot easier.
  3. Just turned 34 last month and only been in the tree felling business for 15 months proparly, but been able to use a chainsaw since '95 when I sat the assessment for the first time. Been working in the countryside, sawmills country parks and farms since then. I have the enthusasim for the job and I don't know when I will give up. I get paid to climb trees!!!
  4. Got talking to someone in the pub and then I mentioned it a work and they were like "yeah I know about that". I am relativly new in the job so I am 'still learning' but everyday is a schoolday. I am hopeing to use the Forum as a learning aid as well especially when I will be sitting ariel resuce assesment, which will be soon. I may not be able to contribute much but I will certainly be using the Forum.
  5. Being a groundie I check the bottom of trees for nails and I put red/white tape on the nail so everybody can see it. Saws stay sharp
  6. Just found out about this Forum and I am loving it. Thought I would say hello to everyone. Hello

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
