  1. I was informed by workware that the Morpho is an addition to the range and does not replace the Butterfly or Dragonfly. It comes in 3 sizes apparently
  2. I always had tired legs until I changed to the new style Komet which offer amazing support and comfort
  3. I saw the Jolly's on Buxtons stand at last years AA show, they are definitely firemans boots and not climbers
  4. Workware are the importers of Komet so I thought the logical thing to do was call them and ask for details. They have told me that stock will be here in time for AA. They also confirmed that the twist in the red straps is the Moebius loop which allows the bridge to centralise on each side independantly Cant wait to try
  5. I heard they are going to be available at AA show so its a good time to sit and try
  6. I think you have to use common sense when bracing and you need to look at what would happen if a failure occured. However, bracing should be inspected at regular intervals and if that is done there shouldnt be any problems
  7. Apparently, the guy who invented Cobra has left that company and started a new one called Arboa http://www.arboa.com. They have lots of things on their site and have answered my questions in the past very efficiently
  8. There is snow LAW regarding this, only recommendation. Most users do not wear a hard hat only face and ear protection. The onus is on you to assess the risk then use the correct PPE you have stated in your assesment
  9. Have a look on Honeys home page they have all the details there
  10. Go to Honeys, Martin Day puts on agreat show in drag )
  11. The show you are looking for is the Arboricultural Assosiation show its 13 - 14th June at Bathurst Estate Cirencester or Tom Tom GL7 6JT
  12. Whats the difference between the new and old styles, I heard the inside is exactly the same
  13. So why the German name ??? is someone trying to fool us into thinking they are the same quality as Meidl and Haix ??
  14. I've seen the Steins and they dont look any different to many other boots. I get a bit suspicious though when a German sounding name has "Made in Portugal" stamped inside. Are they trying to pull wool
  15. Ever heard of "Neats foot oil" ?? I get it from a local saddler. Apparently its to feed horses hooves but I started using it years ago on anything leather as recommended by I forget who. I even use it on my old leather bike saddle. It seams to feed keep supple and waterprood any leather. Maybe I should try it on the wifes face
  16. I once saw how freezer clothing was tested using heated dummies with infra red camera's, my logic says the same thing could be used to show fact about c/saw trousers. OK I acceplt every person has different factots, metablism, body fat etc etc (god am I boring or what) but there must be a scientific method for taking opinion out and giving us fact
  17. Sorry I forgot to mention something, did anyone see the Haix leaflet which sgows exactly what is in their boots. It sure shows what you pay for
  18. Its OK please have your say, the whole point of a forum us for us to talk without slagging off. I have my opinion and i respect others too. Open debate in public can only work for the advantage of everyone. BTW I just found the perfect answer to slippers, Dont wear them, anyway my lady hate sucking sweaty toes
  19. So whose are the coolest trousers, never mind opinion, does anyone have actial scientific fact ??
  20. I accept fair play and I gave some credit for that but come on we are talking about the boots lining not its level of protection or anything to do with the upper
  21. I have to say I am suprised by Fortecs answer. OK as a manufacturers reprasentative at least they have reponded but I do think theiw reply is a bit ripe. Are they actually trying to tell us that Van Elton dont know how to make boots ?? I thought this was an old established company who have been making boots for ever. I really dont see the difference between a chain saw boot and any other type of boot when it comes to the inner. IMO cheap components make cheap products but in this case sold at high prices
  22. As far as I know the SIP boot is the only one with protection everywhere I think it has something to do with the type of protection they use. I doubt if much weight or heat would be added by putting in extra protection but I dont have evidence to prove that. As far as knowledge goes about protection, where you are protected, how you are protected, what to expect from your protection and how to maintain your protetcion, surely this should be integrated into training. That is of course if there are any knowledgeable enough instructors who really have that knowledge and not just personal opinions
  23. So whats so good about the new Komet harness Jonesie. I heard about it from a frogie pal who has seen it and he really rates it
  24. How many people realise that the area protected on boots is actually laid down in the CE standard and is not the manufacturers choice. the Elton boots have been hit on the side where there is no protection. This is not Eltons fault but the fault of the committee who lay down the standard. My opinion is more people should lobby the European committee to either improve the standard or make it mandatory to explain where the protection is on every brand of boot. BTW I have no connection to Elton and have no gain from defending them. I am merely pointing out the truth. If those Haix boots had been mine, I wouldnt have kicked until the midsole cut through from the inside and I would have had them re-soled long before the wear had gone through to the welt. But I suppose I am a tight ass and want the maximimum out of my money
  25. Has anyone heard about a new harness coming from Komet soon, I hear its the dogs
