  4. get that a lot round here im not the cheapest but my customer service and atention is the best people want you to make them feel like they are the only one and special being like this wins me a lot of work. my guys get pissed off though when the jobs done and im still talking to the customer. they dont moan when i share out the tip money though mmmmm.
  5. love working with eucalyptus smooth, chips well, smells good but for profit (Fire wood) its got to be ash or oak
  6. hi mate ive got a set of arbcoms they are wicked turns a lonely job into a funny job. when im working on tree and groundy is feeding the chipper i can hear exactly whats going on without having to see it. bit pricey though £250 per headset
  7. legaly speaking the waste remains the customers until they have paid for what you have done / quoted to do. i would inform customer of this in writing giving them a date on which you will be returning it or requiring payment before this date . keep a copy for yourself . you cant get any fairer than that

    storing saws

why ? i thought there was less chance of condensation with a full tank ?
  9. Hi Guys am i right in thinking that its best to store your big saws when not being used full of petrol and oil ? quite often my big gun doesnt get used for several weeks
  10. yeah exsplained problems of leaving stump. neighbouring hazel (other side of the fence) had a little look over seems to be the source / provider of this infection looking dead. so unless i get other job and then jcb the whole area (highly unlikely) the problems going to remain. we all now what we should do but its what the customer is going to pay us to do what counts imo and in this economic climate they do whats cheapest.
  11. 2 jobs from 1 thats what i like.

  15. he wont have it down. whats my reduc going to do ? to a already dying / under attack tree ? i did exsplain the recovery rate could be low but cust wants to take the risk. cheers for quick response
  16. hi guys just a quickie tried to twist customers arm to take down a mature prunus instead of reducing/pruning insize because of honey fungus. (only trying to save them money in the long term) anyway tree has visible fruiting body but no major signs of dyback just yet. How long could this tree hang in there for ? and what would recovery from a 25% reduction be like considering this invasion of honey fungus ? customer was wanting to keep tree for as long as poss but undertstand the inevitable. will my 25% reduc be the final nail in this trees coffin ? cheers Gav
