  1. Rover all knew they had taken it too far crossing their new model with a jack russel...!
  2. Does anyone know where I can find some of those Small metal tree tags. You know the size of a squashed 50 pence peace usually come in 1-100 or 1-1000 packs. Im looking to mark up our important trees. cool
  3. Dam true........... makes a change from all the moaning that goes on in here. nice one.

Ive got one but dont use it on my wire flip line. A prussik allows a soft point which could be cut if u needed to.
  5. Thou shall not pass solids or liquids whilst up in the tree
  6. funny thing is Steve..........................Nobody knows what it is..
  7. Big thanks to Steve and all the Raffle sponsers . Everyone should feel proud of them selves for raising £2020 for a good cause. How about we do it again then............... haha
  8. cheers for that info. Looking at sycamore at the mo as it's easier to get hold of.
  9. Looks like I just fed the 'White dog' then. Poor old things been bloody hungry.
  10. I've been using the small riggin plate for almost a year now. Still on the same bridge for my dragonfly and the bridge and plate are wearing nicely. The benefits of the plate are that it lets you hang your saw on your rope and not on your harness so you dont feel the extra weight. Plus obviously extra attachment points.

  14. cool Will let you know as soon as i have the 6 minimun people.
  15. Thanks for the mixed bag of comments guys. I appreciate it. It clearly seems like a TOUCHY subject to some and there will be many people like me who want to understand the ins and outs of business insurance ( they dont teach us that in general certs or even things like the RFS ). Any way I imagen most of you out there have done a job at some point or another without relevant insurance. But hopefully I will have something sorted soon. Merry christmas
  16. Hey Tim. Hows it going buddy. How did u do with ur pti? What u up to these days?

  17. ummmmmmm.......Food for thought/ I dont know mate. This is indeed Arbtalk is it not, a site to swap opinions and general advice. I have not forced people for their response and they do so at their own 'risk' if u would call it that. And also I (myself) must make a living. I dont advertise, I have my own contacts and pay others who work with me. I get my jobs by doing good work and recommendations. People before starting a business, surely built up steady private jobs first. I personally think your view on this subjact is slightly selfish and narrow minded. And I am very grateful for the 'arb lads and ladies' comments. If I could help someone I would. Thanks:banghead:
  18. Also you could start a fire wood industry. Or my favourate buy a massive killa stump grinder and just grind a couple of big stumps a week to get by. Not the most thrilling of jobs but when ur that old you'd probably have a heart attack doing anything else.
  19. Also does anyone know if u can phone and get covered just for 1 day.
  20. Alright fellas and gals. Im currently trying to arrange Tree life to run an AA tech cert in norwich. It will either be held at the UEA or Easton colledge and will probably be 1 day a fortnight. I need at least 5 people including myself to make it happen. Any more people will knock down the price and make it cheaper for all. So are you in......
  21. I do a fair bit of private work on weekends and holidays etc. If I wanted to get the cheapest 'work at hights' insurence who would be the best company to go for. What do u guys do or pay for insurence? Festive cheers:beer:
  22. Apparently tacchyon is now wat is known as a type a rope( which is ment for intensive use) All over ropes are now classed as type b e.g xtc plus, spearmint, blaze yarda yarda. which means they are for more occasional use. Obviously this is a load of crap as that didnt exist before tacchyon was created. Ive tried tacchyon and it is nice but more money. Alot of places are stopping to stock blaze so maybe u can get a deal on their last bits of stock.Thats wat i did. I like the blaze brade on brade design
  23. mostly fire wood. im thinking hazel, but still not a fast grower like willow
