  1. You know how the LA send nasty letters out saying "unless you prune you tree back from road, lights, pavement etc or remove dead tree within 14 days we will do it for you then charge approx 5 times the going rate." Well really shouldnt I be within my rights to demand the same rights as the LA? Surely if I use a route either by foot or car that has a ddd tree within the target zone then surely thats a danger to me and the rest of the public and it should be removed. I think i will try this one out the next time i get some poor old dear calling me to prune her dangerous privets back from the footpath.
  2. 700 years old! Must be the last of the ancient oaks. Nice pics pity you didnt have any before shots. Welcome btw
  3. Me being a tight arse would say the cheapest Or something around 40hp diesel
  4. Sounds like a good spec what hp?
  5. The jensen is the only chipper ive ever seen that snapped its chassis in half Not good when your doing 60 on the motorway.
  6. What type of chipper are you developing if you dont mind me asking?
  7. Who cares what she's saying Funny as fook though.
  8. Everytime ive used a crane the driver lifts and moves it well outta the way, he'd get a slap if he didnt. Nice vid though, same ? about the gobs for crane work, step cut every time.
  9. There will soon be more dead than living here Well maybe and egsageration but you get my point
  10. Sounds like you did the right thing there then
  11. Or when your snatching the top out of a nice skinny lombardy
  12. Sad but true. No doubt some1 could steal defective equipment, injury thereselves then sue your pants off.
  13. Sounds like those coppers where a right pair of bent buggers, but how where you sure that the lads didnt deserve a good kicking? I would have probably waded in and pinned em done while the coppers leathered them
  14. Would serve them right if it failed for stealing it
  15. Ive got them but hate them, too tight and too hot prefer the hi-flex tbh. Allthough the sips seem more durable.
  16. I have one on my main line but use a standard 3 way for a secondary strop. The Petzl ball locks are good, nice and easy to use. Whats every1 else using?
  17. Or you can start higher than the price you want then get barted down think they get a bargain, works with some. Although I agree with the bit of tidying up, customers dont see that youve just taken down 8 ton of beech tree and not damaged a thing. They only care if the garden is tidy
  18. Tbh I meant while chogging (my bad)but sometimes on long stems theres no need depending on the species, or usually a quick nick of the bark does the trick. Never had a bad tear YET! Not to say its good practice like
  19. Allthough I reckon I could have chogged that down in the time it took to get the saw going. I allways use step cuts never had a prob:thumbup:lem yet Well I'm probably lying there most of the time I just use a back cut unless theres a bad lean to it the wrong way etc.
  20. If its a good enough reason for helmet manufactures to increase there prices then they can get lost. We use the Husky climbing helmet which I really like so I'm sticking to it. A groundsmans helmet is more important imo.
  21. Will the new revised BS3998 be freely available or will we have to pay for it? We use percentages alot but only as a guideline really, 5% being basically a crown clean and 30% being fairly drastic! I'd say the 100mm for reductions being probably about right, but if we start having to go by diameters of branches etc it could get fairly tricky. Anyhow none of the Arb officers I know couldnt probably be arsed to get up there and have a look anyway
