  1. How do we get this over a 7 ft wall? Hmm..... ... get a mate from the farm! No sawdust or back breaking work, customer kept all the smaller logs, I love days like these
  2. Worked for a guy whose daughter is the voice on the orange adverts, ha thats about as famous as it gets
  3. Nice bit of work. Are they straight fells? How are you getting rid of the timber?
  4. Few more pictures Theres a skinny little runt, oh wait its me Who do you work for High Scale?
  5. Yeah it was just me and my colleauge on the ground, the Schliesing chipper helped us keep on top of things. We were in such a rush to get out he forgot to take a final picture. We sub ourselves out to a chap called Alan J Engley, hes a M.Arb, (R.F.S.),F.Arbor. A.,M.I.Hort.,M.I.C.For. and gets us alot of good work around Bristol and Bath.
  6. 3 days before this huge shopping centre in the centre of Bristol is about to open and they finally decide to get the tree work done. The tree officer recommended we pollarded this silver maple because it has Ganoderma, had to lower everything because of the lights installed directly under the tree.
  7. I bet having those trees on the street puts the value of those homes up, looks so much better.
  8. Thanks, it was tricky getting out on the tips especially the top 3rd as there was no decent middle to anchor to, but my groundy was a help eye-ing me in on a few bits
  9. 25% reduction this morning, probaly the biggest tree i've reduced since i started 2 years ago.
  10. Re shaped this (err can't remember what it was, sorry!) tree the other day, really pleased with the end result just wish i'd have taken a before picture.
  11. I think 18k would be a good wage. I'm sure a cherry picker and 7.5 tonne licence on top of your skills would make you even more valuable.
  12. I've often had nightmares about towing the chipper then it coming off and crashing down a hill behind me, destroying everything and having to explain to the boss what happened
  13. I can't find anything on the website to do with arboriculture, or am I just blind?
  14. This is in Amsterdam where my colleauge went a few weeks ago, can't imagine you will see anything like this in the UK?
  15. Lovely looking truck. We do a bit of work for a company who has one of those. Once followed it home on the motorway towing a 3 tonne cherry picker cruising at about 65-70mph. They also have the 4x4 version, but its been sat in their yard for about a year now waiting for a body. I'm not a fan of sign written trucks, we had to cover our logo up evertime we subbed ourselves out to other companies or council work so we just got rid.
  16. You can just picture it. Old boy on a ladder sawing away at the thickest limb, doesn't do an undercut so it rips taking out the ladder and himself now in hospital.
  17. Working for J R Williams Tree Care. Based in Yate, South Gloucester. If you work Saturdays I might have a few free days at the end of the summer so i'l keep you posted.
  18. Worst trees for me have got to be Lombardy Pops, conifers, really dense Yew's and any tree covered in ivy. I find the branches on Limes fail easier than Ash.
  19. Hi Nick, Sam Barnett here from college. Good to see business is going well. If you knew of any cheap accomodation I'm sure I would be perfect for the job. Seen your van around the somerset area, do you work this way often?
  20. Nice pictures. Its good to see the Land rover in its element
  21. I'm no expert on this, my boss is the one with the knowledge so I will bring up this point with him, don't want to be doing the engine any harm
  22. How much are they new? Got to be getting on for 100k?
  23. We run our U1000 at 24 000 rpm and that gives about 1300 rpm at the pto.
  24. Yeah it tips 3 ways. Not sure of their name but they are local engineers to us in Yate, South Gloucester. They have made chip boxes for mogs before.
