  1. ahh, the cut and push technique. Got a sweatshirt with little holes all the way up the sleeve where the chain grabbed and ran up my arm, coming to a stop inches off my juggular, stopped only by my ear muff, thats why I wear ear defenders and not ear plugs. Could have been nasty, have a slightly different technique to the cut and push now
  2. Sorry didn't notice handled described as broken What I did was bought a new saw and put my old one on ebay, believe it or not it brought £350 inc postage. So now I renew my 200t every 12 months and put the old one on ebay
  3. Try here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STIHL-MS200-020T-CHAINSAW-ARBORIST-TREE-SURGEON_W0QQitemZ130197177919QQihZ003QQcategoryZ42356QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. Cheers for that Ed, will look into it next week and give them a ring, let you know how I get on.
  5. Someone told me there was a grant available for removing rhodies. I have 3.5 acres of Oak woodland which is about half over run with the blighters. Have been meaning to get round to ripping them all out but the task is enormous. Does anyone know of this grant or how you apply for it
  6. Go faster if you take the mowing deck off and lighten it up, will use less petrol and therefore more profit. might think of putting a spoiler on to counteract the turbulence caused by the uneven surface of the logs
  7. Only problem with 12" bandits is, if you do manage to get them down your domestic customers drive, the customer sh!ts themselves when they see your big chipper.....no pun intended
  8. 275hp ???? Why don't you stick a generator on it, it could power a small town and pay for itself while your using it.
  9. The most important requirement for me was the letterbox infeed opening, needs to be twice as wide as it is high. Wouldn't have a timberwolf for that reason, square infeed. They need servicing regularly. Best thing to do is look at them all at the next Arb show and look at the build quality, thickness of metal etc. That's why I ended up with Bandit, over engineered, typical yanks
  10. It has its off days. Today we were doing holly, which you would think it would struggle with. Seems to be Horsechestnut that it jams on, although if you leave the pit full under the bottom roller, it helps.
  11. Yes, 6" and performed quite well today
  12. As in what goes on your PTO shaft ? Is there any advantage?
  13. Job we did today, only a 4x4 would have done, single track lane, traffic all day, nearest layby to job 200 yards, just drove it up onto banking right under the tree. Saved hours. Proper tyres as well, Anacondas
  14. Come on Ed, far better than the Patrol  Just as an aside, I'd like to see what state a Range rover would be in after 220,000, that's if one ever got there
  15. They look the dogs. I wood probably want something like the TW3 to go on the back of the tractor. I have a kubota 30hp so it shouls power one fine, it would need to be on a stand so I could just back the tractor up to it. Could you cost me for making one like the tw3. I understand you get what you pay for, that's what put me off benye, too cheap. I should be in a position to buy one in about a month, Mr McTree will vouch for me
  16. You don't have a picture of one of your splitters do you Ed ?
  17. The Landcruiser Amazon is for the tescos visit, but you have to wait for two parking spaces together to fit it in. Now that thing does pull my equipment, pulled a fully loaded 7.5 tonner out of a ditch last week. Didn't even know it was attached to the car and popped it out of the ditch like it was a toy The Amazon has done 220,000 miles and has had one alternator and a tiny rubber bush on the antiroll bar. Still drives and runs like new. Going to run it for another two years then chop it in for a new one, so will have to put my day rate up a little to save up.
  18. Would you be able to do intrechangable 2 or 4 way and make them height adjustable and what sort of money. Have seen some brand new decent rams (jcb etc) going on ebay cheap
  19. If it's just for show, I would have a new Hilux
  20. Know what you mean, but i would probably keep hold of the hydrocut for the more awkward stuff and just put straight no knot rings and logs through the 4 way.
  21. Have toyed with the idea of making one but it's the adjustable knife that would be hard to do. I've seen one in action but same as your mates, it had the single knife. I rekon it would be a massive increase in speed if it had the adjustable four way. I have one of those Hydrocuts, nice splitter, but can grab and catch you out, far too slow for commercail use though, mind numbing in fact.
