Most shoots have a brush cutter. You don't always need tracked machines.

The whole point of using a masher/shredding blade is that you don't have to pick anything up. Its on the floor in tiny pieces! why create another job if you don't have to? A shredding blade should be used top to bottom and not right to left.

You get used to it! It actually makes you think about it a little more. Not had a problem.

If you just have a mill, do the top cut then the bottom cut. You will then have to turn it and do a new first top cut. If you have a mini mill do the sides or you can use it to do all the cuts.

Use a hedge trimmer and a brush cutter with a mulching/shredding head. Chainsaw is going to end in tears!

getting light weights up is no problem, getting them down is where it suffers!

There are more qualified Rope Wrench experts than me but my thoughts. Make a stiff tether, it will help self tend. Don't bother with the set up in the last picture its not worth the effort your loosing the 1:1 advantage. Enjoy and welcome to the future of tree work!

Marc, maybe my comment seems a little harsh especially has I haven't used one but, I still stand by the fact that its the ring that causes problems. If you loose the ring you may be onto something, then make the weights adjustable. The Rope knight also shields the rope when inserting the line. This is a very handy feature. It's good to see other developers coming up with ideas. Out if interest why have you developed a throw weight?

Quite difficult for me to quantify as unlike Thomas I have not broken it down to man hours etc! As per my previous post I think you could have just the rope knight on its own with maybe the red cover and a bag. Everything else could then be an optional extra helping to reduce cost. It does save me time and frustration!😄 Is it worth it? Anything that makes my life easier and less stressful has to be a good thing! 👍 Is it better? It certainly has its advantages which soon outweigh the negatives. The major one being cost and getting used to using a solid object. I can not give you one overriding reason why you should have one as that's a personnel decision that only you can answer. Like I said before I like it and so do my mates. They particularly like my stress free setting of climbing lines!👍🙈🙉🙊

It will get stuck, probably more than a conventional throw bag. It still has a ring to catch. The rope knight overcomes this by having a gentle sloping angle from line entry to main body. Having used throw bags and rope knight I no which one I choose. My friends also sceptical now ask to use mine when installing lines.
