    4X4 Tippers

Im looking to sell my 130 tipper and Range rover and get a newer double cab tipper. i have seen a nice chip box made locally. The 130 at the moment is perfect for the day job but running two vehicles is not fun. The double cab will lose about 18" length wise but will have high sides alround. Its a comprimise but i have use of a tipping trailer too.
  6. How is this for a circular saw!! is there a way to make it run off a tractor ? i see the belt drive but wondered if there was a way to convert it to pto? Its at my new barn, well one i have aquired that needs tearing down and starting again, but its my new log store and processing base.
  7. That is great to see. your site is very nice too. we have had a few T 20's over the years. i am off to look at a DB 880 tomorrow. can you recommend a log splitter for it?
  8. Thats great to hear. what splitter are you running? do you have a picture you could post? I have a 1954 Ransomes Crawler but i dont think the pto/ 3 point will match any splitters on the market so i am off to look at a 1967 David Brown tomorrow than find a splitter at a later date. Any advice would be greatfully recieved. Ed.
  9. Hi Matty how did you get on with the tractor?
  10. Thank you that looks great. is that a tool cabinet there too? Could it be bigger or is that a double cab butt on a single cab with a tool box? Do you chip in to it? i keep looking at mine and imagining it 2 feet shorter!
  11. Nice machine everyone. Here is mine and my Brother in laws. Mine is the white one. i am thinking about chopping it in for a newer double cab but i need to know what the largest tipping butt is i can get on it.I need a newer one and then i can get rid of my Range rover and have this one as my only vehicle to save on tax, insurance, fuel etc. Does anyone know the largest tipping butt avaliable for a 130 DC or whether the HIcap butts can be made to tip?
  12. Finally got a picture of the 2 130's together. taken with my phone but you get the gist. Mine is the white one, a 300 tdi and the red is my soon to be brother in laws, 200tdi.
  13. That looks great fun on the top of the truck. well done for laughing about your under charging etc. Good stuff.
  14. Thanks Colin, i am looking forward to today and will let you all know how it goes. I need to trust the kit like you say.
  15. Well done chaps, i started the first day of my training today. bit windy and i was a bit put off but i am looking forward to tomorrow to show myself i can do it and there is nothing to worry about.
  16. Thank Colin, i will keep an eye out for helicopters at Bicton.
  17. Thanks all, yeah i expect we will be in the class room for the most of tomorrow but im all ready for climbing anyway. I may be on the news if it is blowing a gale. i may end up in Cornwall.
  18. Ive got my basic climbing and aerial rescue starting tomorrow here in Devon. could be interesting!!
  19. I have just ordered the Collins tree guide on your recommendation. thank you. Pentcols, its good to hear that i will pick it up as i go along, thank you, very reasurring. Thanks Edward.
  20. Sorry to butt in on this thread but it is on the same lines. I am new to tree surgery and i am lined up for the NPTC courses as i go along. my concern is tree indentification. I am picking up the tree names and growing pattens quickly but want to know if there maybe a course i could do to get up too speed quicker. I have had a look online but the courses are baffling me a little. Can anyone here point me in the right direction? Thank you very much Edward.
  21. Thanks Jonsie, i am wearing my new harness as i type(i will take it off now though). Super service, thanks. Ed.
  22. Just want to say a public thank you to Justin for guiding me throuhg my first climbing gear purchase. I have my course on the 10/3/08 and now i have all the kit needed to get me off the ground. Thanks mate.
  23. underneath sounds like a good plan and the only sensible option. There should be room but i will have a look thank in the light tomorrow. Ed.
  24. That looks the part mate. I like the useful add ons you have got to really personalise YOUR truck. Trailer looks man enough too. trying to decide where to mount my spare wheel, how did you get on with it on your bonnet? Do you prefer it on the back of the cab? Oh and what width tyres are you running? My 7.50s look tiny compared to yours.
