  1. Easy to switch off seat belt alarm for each seat. If I remember correctly. Turn on ignition when light appears put belt in holder 4 times in 10 second and then wait for light to go out. Search internet you can switch off a few things. Outside temperature light annoys me - this is the uk in winter it is always on as 4 degrees to high a level. oh and the gear change light. I know when to change gear don't need a poxy light flashing on to tell me
  2. Hydraulic wins hand down with me. Been running grinders ten year now and the last 3 years with bandit 2550. I do 350 plus hours per year and not a single issue. When I had belt machine would be lucky to get 6 months without an issue. Then there the cost of replacing belt and down time. As for power loss - not an issue to me. Believe it's down to how much you use machine and whether teeth sharp. Once you know how much to bite off you can control wheel speed with remote (which increase productivity) - wouldn't have a manual operated machine again
  3. It was about 500 yards from house in middle of field. I understand owner could see it in morning when he opened bedroom curtains and spoilt his view. I have removed about 10 similar stumps on same estate over years.
  4. Found this the other day. think about 4 years ago. The old bandit 2450 Bandit 2450.
  5. The original and new machine basically the same. The parts that they have improved is the cutting head and hydraulic system. The machine seems to have a slightly deeper cutting depth and doesn't seem to collect as much chip around head. Never had any issues with hydraulic but they seem to have improved cooling. Lots of other minor changes which makes the machine feel more solid - not that bandit ever under engineer anything.
  6. Been running a 2550 for a couple of years now. Just taken delivery of my 2nd. Original was superb did 650 hrs in 2years and no major issues just minor repairs. New one even better. Here is a video of the original in action.
  7. Technology has changed my view on this and I now know exactly how much my vehicle and machinery cost to run and how much money they earn. Do you charge an amount for fuel/vehicle costs or just included within job price? I do both these depending on distance need to travel, now know how much it actually cost to run - was a bit of a surprise. The cheaper my running costs the more profit I can make. Thought old truck saving me money as paid for. In fact costing me more than buying new truck. Sounds like hours of work but didn't take long to collect all the info into a spreadsheet.
  8. I have recorded the mileage, fuel volumes etc for last couple of years in an app. So I am pretty happy that it is accurate at 27.41mpg average. Don't trust the dash version no where near accurate.
  9. Been running 2.2 mk5 ranger since October 14 and getting an average of 27.41mpg. Tow trailer with grinder everyday so not bad. Better than old mk2 but not by much.
  10. Found this in/under windblown tree stump. Apparently customers son had bought it years ago and hadn't got round to buying boat to go with it.

  13. Think it took a couple of hours. Was filmed a few months back. Great machine my 3rd bandit and the best yet. Greenteeth 900
  14. Here is a short video of my Bandit 2550 in action.
  15. Garage in oxford selling @ 1.25 a ltr. my diesel costs gone up 30% on this time last year. Nick
  16. There is a business for stump grinding thats all I do now. You can get away with a small grinder but to be honest you will be limited to the stump you can do unless you hire in big machines and then you dont make any money. Big machines need to work all the time to make money. A lot of tree surgeon I work for would rather make money on the trees and dont seem interested in stumps or dont like doing them. I even work for some who have there own machines and would rather pass the work to me. I am happy to give you more pointers if you send me a PM. Cheers Nick
  17. Hi all Been a member for some time and thought an introduction in order before posting. Just do stump grinding now - based in berkshire. How about a forum for Stump Grinding? Nick
