  1. I had a U1100 which I made tip left or right with electric tipping gear.
  2. I could not make it, just to busy, I'm already letting people down as I can't get to all the work thats coming in! And from the sound of things I didn't miss any thing, so I'm glad I didn't bother!
  3. Great vid!! Thanks for sharing!!
  4. Nice one!! I'll add "pruning spikes" to my APF shopping list:001_cool: Mike do you use your felling spikes to get up the tree (spiking up the back of the tree,of cause) and change into you pruning spikes once up the tree??
  5. I would be interested to see one of your conifer hedge reductions
  6. Tell you what Dean, I'll get a surgeon to remove one of your arms, but don't worry he will do it properly, so you don't get infected, it'll be fine!! Yes of cause we need to know tree biology and correct pruning cuts, I would hope all on here are aware of that, but don't pretend that removing a Branch , twig, or limb, is in the interest of the tree, in the vast majority of cases it is NOT!!
  7. So you don't remove healthy trees. Your starting to sound like a broken record
  8. Spot on Mike!!! I think to many people kidd them selves that they are cutting the tree for the TREE'S benefit, very, very, rarely true, IMO. Trees got on very well before we ever started hacking them.
  9. If its done from a MEWP, your probably fat or a puff or both!!!
  10. Climber for sure!! If I could not climb I'd be looking for other work. I'm afraid the part of the job I enjoy the most is large take downs, so if I said arborist first, before climber, that would be like a surgeon saying he enjoyed autopsies more than saving lives! sorry:blushing: I am an arborist too,but it's defiantly second to being a climber.
  11. Whats the crab for just tie straight to the harness........ ............. come to think of it why not tie a harness out of your rope!!!! Why do we waste so much money on all this unnecessary gear:confused1:
  12. I'm starting to think we are going to fallout:sneaky2:
  13. Do you know of anyone whose been arrested and charged!!!! ???
  14. Nope!! what a waste of good steel If I got a 100M tree to do I would need to buy a longer rope, but I'm sure that would cost less than hiring that monstrosity for the day:001_tongue:
  15. I've been called to loads of 100ft trees that turn out to be 45ft max.
  16. Don't you mean "public liability"???
  17. Excellent Ed, a pint won on a bet always tastes better!! PS. nice reduction!!
  18. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I like it Mike!! Heres me doing the Bruce Forsyth.
  19. No I am not a sexy woman!!!
  20. You've lost me:confused1:
  21. You calling me FAT!!!!!!
  22. Dead Elm is, IME, stronger than live. I've done Elm's that have been dead for 15 years or more and are strong as steel, often better after many years as the bark drops off, making it better for spikes . As Dean says the root will often go as its in the wet, but if it didn't go over in the last wind I'm happy to climb it.
