  1. Hey, I've just noticed I've been promoted to 'member'. Check me out...!!
  2. I know I'm new to this arbtalk lark, but how come everyone's suddenly 'site moderators'? I wanna moderate something!!! Have I missed something?
  3. Certainly does the job. I used to take some similar shots but I don't have a camera these days. Doesn't matter how good your camera is if you can't frame a picture. You've got it mate!
  4. Nice shots. You have a good eye. What camera you using?
  5. Hey Not sure how useful 'distance learning' arboriculture will be but I guess the RFS are very well recognised. As for cost, I did a full-time course (being 2.5 days a week), national certificate in Arb last year. It costs between £4-500, unless you qualify for fee exemption somehow and for that you get a good basic understanding of the job and 4 or 5 CS tickets. You should be able to do the course and still have enough time during the week to get some work experience too. Just one way, but I don't know all your circumstances. Good luck!
  6. Oi!!! less of your lip, sunshine now, get ta bed!!!
  7. :confused1:Don't think anyone's being rude, just voicing their oppinions... We're all grown ups, aren't we?
  8. Hey I'm not having a dig at you personally, please don't think I am, but I think your experiences, or rather your friends, are the exception rather than the rule and not necessarily a true representation of the industry. I agree with you that your friend needs to sort out who she works for. No one should put up with that stuff.
  9. LMAO!!!...
  10. No worries. That'll learn me to go doing a boys job in girl shoes!
  11. Oh I have and they're ok, but just for the inconvenience and sheer annoyance. And of course it'd have to be sly...that's why I put "on the sly".
  12. "Thanks", a bottle of wine and that nice warm glow you get from doing a nice thing would've been plenty for me. Not what you wanna hear, no doubt. And yes, I'll probably always be poor!
  13. Oh and no, I wasn't pricing a job in stiletoes...I'm not even sure how to spell that!!
  14. Went to price a job today- out of hours for me- so I was wearing normal 'girl shoes' and as I've come away I've found my shoes are covered in afore mentioned dogga and it's proper ingrained. Am I wrong to add the cost of the shoes on to the quote, just work it in somewhere on the sly. Not a happy girl... :-{
  15. I'm sure you've made someone a lovely wife!
  16. I agree. No point at all. That's all part of the lifecycle of trees. They're not just there for us. Why don't people see the bigger picture?
  17. Check out you guys and your washing advice!!! I haven't laughed so much in ages! Was that in with your delicates? What temperature did you put it at? Fabric softener? Rock n roll...

  21. Westonbirt arboretum. A company called Tree Life A/C Ltd run it from there. I've decided to do it next year and concentrate on getting my business off the ground, therefore, there is a space there now. The reason Bridgwater aren't doing it is all but one of their candidates from last year failed and I'm assured it was more to do with the level of teaching than the candidates. Tree Life:0116 2606939

  24. My energy levels are really low of late and I'm having the old porridge for breakfast thing. Any advice on what's best to eat to keep energy as high as pos?
