    all good fun

trying to take some heavy limbs and wind pressure away so it would not fall over on to footpath walls and stables but it still needs to come down awaiting insurance assessor now which is absolutely ridiculous as even though we have shut the path folk are still using it and no mater what the insurance says it still needs to come down sooner rather than later but if its cut down before the assessor sees it they wont pay up

    all good fun

went to this chestnut sat pm the owner wanted some weight taking off the adjacent elm had fallen down and the chestnut had leant oner a lot more bottom branches were 10 feet lower sorry no before photos just spent 1.5 hours removing all the lower and long extending branches to try to stop if falling over so it could be dropped later still very windy and rocking all over the place Loved every bit of it loads of splits and barber chairs far too windy but it pays the bills was £20 too much for all that fun

    sprockets

correct but what are they Husqvarna generally now say 1 chain to 1 sprocket Stihl generally say 2 chains to 1 sprocket used simultaniosly to keep wear even they both say up to 0.5mm wear as some have said a chain can last a long time especially on a climbing saw As HIGH SCALE says stihl do a sprocket measuring guage which will be invaluable to you although easier to check on an inboard clutch Part no 0000 883 4101 and only costs 98 pence so go on boys and girls see the light and get one Worn sprockets are a cause of vibration
  4. i use one from treeworker with a art swivel positioner have used most others and this seems best but not the cheapest way of doing things
  5. when dressing bars they arehardened by heat and blunt files try a carbarundum stone to at least break through the outside layer but dont use your nice one get a cheap one as it wears grooves in big time

  11. my first chipper was a 6 inch arboreater and after some tlc and a few mods it was a great chipper though have a timberwolf now and it is better but cost me more so you do get what you pay for second hand chippers really depend on whos had them and what you are prepared to do to improve them
  12. does the stitching not get in the way at so short done as a basket i went up a size
  13. i am a poor guy who uses only second hand gear please remember me when you replace your stuff
  14. vertex vents last 5 years not 3 so the extra cost justified the old style helmets with chinstraps are now not recomended and you would not be able to do lantra or nptc climbing in them i have a black vertex vent would not buy another dont stand out enough on ground though i do look damn good in it kong ones are not as good imo as velcro headband gets caught in my hair

  20. i could not see where that birch had been pruned am i missing something
  21. behave
  22. i think you will find 200mm is the smallest redily avaiable i had some 150mm ones done and after the stiching was not realy long enough as the stitching did not flex enough i dont think a 60 or 80mm would be anywhere near long enough to go through any attachment IMO
  23. loler is not crap it is there to protect you . i have yet to meet a loler inspector whose kit is as you say crap the loler inspectors course is a very intensive and hard to pass course so if your not interested in kit you will NOT pass. why did you not show him your proper kit unless its not fit for service infact why did you bother as if owt happened to you whilst using unchecked kit your more in the doo doo than pleading did not realize needed doing. you should check your own kit daily and record it weekly and have it chesked within 6 months for climbing and 12 months for lowereing and yes kit should be marked and identifable so you know its strengh and dates of purchase as kit does not like uv and degregates faster than we realize i could go on and on but there you are and yes i do have all my kit checked and yes i am one of those damn loler inspectors have a good night my rant is over:bongsmi::bongsmi:
  24. i,ll vouch for that
  25. we got a 250 and am very impressed would buy another
