  1. 10mm Bee line, 15ft of rope, no eye splice. I use a positioner, some use a cinch. It's not a washing line, but based on a retractable inspection lamp cable. Might not look pretty, but a great aid! I've brought them into the UK as I think they are another tool that helps us in our job....I had a similar idea, but Paul Cox got there first! (hats off!!) Check out Instagram for lots of photos, just tag #sidewinder. You can get them direct but don't forget duty and postal charges!! Drop me a line if you'd like one.
  2. Just wondered if the Sidewinder is still a topic of conversation as I finally got round to bringing a load in from the US, been modifying them a bit, moving the rope exit, changing the cable ties for attachment, removing the ratchet etc, etc!! I like the positioner rather than the cinch. So if any of you lot in the UK want one...let me know!!
  3. The Stein Hot Pink has been a winner for me (with a Throwpod of course) also the Marlow Yellow Dyneema. A lot of personal preference with throwlines as well as your own expertise and experience. I could actually run workshops on techniques, tip and tricks with throwlines and bags there is that much you can do with them!!
  4. Mark, nice idea....can we use the photo? Marcus will buy you a beer sometime in exchange!!
  5. Where are you moving to Scarfie? Might help you in finding a trainer/assessor who can help...as Yorkshireman says, you could just do the tests with one of us! Often running refreshers for companies here, often got a CS30/31 running - could fit you in for an assessment. Check out my website mate - be glad to help - Sawpod
  6. Gordon - of course the new Zubat has loops in the scabbard especially designed to take the Sawpod!! Look forward to hearing what you think of it when you get round to buying one!
  7. Gordon try - Replacement Parts for Silky's ZUBAT Hand Saws for Zubat spares. And of course you should have a Sawpod, after all it's made by another Yorkshireman (me)!! Tony
  8. We reckon since we launched the Throwpod on the 1st April 2013 we've sold around 350!! They are in Japan, Australia, Sweden, Germany, Hong Kong, The US, Canada, New Zealand and all across the UK!! How you getting on with yours?
  9. This sums up our take on the Throwpod "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" ~Leonardo DaVinci As we have said we all have different ways of doing things - life would be pretty boring if we all wanted the same thing. We are happy for our products to speak for themselves - shall we leave it there?
  10. Sorry mate....commitments, commitments and then the surf was "up"!
  11. Like we said Ian it doesn't suit everyone!
  12. Just to say we have been inundated with orders for the Throwpod and due to the demand now have two weights 8oz(pink) and 10oz(orange)! When we came up with the idea we were very pleased with the results and have been overwhelmed by the response of the trade! The Throwpod is now in the USA, Australia, Japan and Germany. It is just about to go to the International Tree Climbing Competition in Thun, Switzerland with Boel Hammarstrand! So we must have done something right! I reckon it's a bit like the Sawpod and Marmite (you either love it or hate it) each to their own....but don't discount it as another way of doing things!
  13. Matthew - glad you like it! Any photos? We love to see the Throwpod at work! The Sawpod Team
  14. Chris - do continue? We are all waiting for the outcome....... The Sawpod Team
  15. Good to meet you finally Silkyfox, keep up the good work - Tony and Di Darbyshire
  16. The Throwpod came into it's own at the Arb Show, Marcus nailing his second throw......did the 3ATC climb in an unbelievable 7.57 minutes!! Unfortunately for him as he has won 2 Premier events, he couldn't claim the prize! Geoff came in a very respectable second. Well done to everyone who competed and thanks to the judges, technicians, Nick & Elaine at Arbjobs, and the Stein crew!
  17. I particularly like the use of the Sawpod strap Silky Fox, unless I'm mistaken?
  18. We will be at the Arb Trade Fair at Cirencester this weekend, so anyone who wants to see the Throwpod for real and talk to us about it, we'd love to chat! The pod will be available from Joneses, Buxtons, Treeworker, Honeys, Clark Forest and Sorbus. Marcus and I are judging in the 3ATC climbing comp, but are around for the whole 2 days - come and find us. Geoff Pugsley and Marcus will be using the pod in the comp so come and see it in action! Look out for the blue topped 8oz version, available from some of the shops!!
  19. Ah, the "incident" when's the new one coming Marc?
