  1. MOG have a look at the video The Throwpod By Sawpod on Vimeo Just a bit different to a canvas bag as it is a solid....
  2. Gti's - Martin had one, I had one (mk 1 and mk 2)...Robbie Davies, Mark Williams....
  3. Chris Ingram! Now those were the days!!
  4. The Throwpod was in action at the weekend at the Welsh 3ATC - I decided to have a climb as not many people had signed up, made a change from judging!! Weather was stunning and I managed a respectable time on the Premier climb - only to be beaten by Mr Pugsley, who did his run on the Sunday!! So first and second for the Throwpod. Thanks to the judges and sponsors for a good weekend!
  5. That's a bit harsh Rupe, and the boy lent you his rope!!
  6. The Throwpod was on show at the UK ISA Tree Climbing Comp at Highclere - Marcus and Geoff in action -
  7. "This is an issue I need solving. Long ago I went to eye terminations in my ropes. The picture shows a 10 oz Harrison Rocket snuggled up to a mini spring gate biner. I have lived so long with offing the bag, and onning the rope in one single, one-second motion with climbing gloves on, then projectile off and bag back on in one second. I miss this swiftness, and though I have found new advantages in the throwpod, having to take my gloves off to tie hitches or knots in small stuff is not where I want to be spending any time, but like Bolam, I am looking for a solution" Tree Machine Perhaps we will come up with a solution for Mark and Treemachine in the Mark II version of the Throwpod! All our design ideas for a nose loop or line attachment just over complicated everything - but it is never far from our minds! Great pictures Treemachine - really shows the pivot point well!
  8. Ben - if you use fishing line you'll get it a lot higher!! Or just a really light line like the Petzl airline or Stein Hot Pink! (but that is only 50m) Where are you off to in Indonesia, not anywhere near the Orangutans are you? Our links are with the guys in Borneo. Let us know how you get on!
  9. Both boys did very well, it being their first international climbing comp. You'll have to ask them their positioning! They are both in action again at Highclere at the UK comp. Marcus used his Throwpod in the rescue part of the comp!
  10. The Throwpod being used for real! Marcus at the German ISA comp at the weekend!
  11. I am positively sad - check the whipping out here! (helps having a daughter who likes to do braids!)
  12. Here's the pic, bit tatty now, but shows how it works!
  13. We will think about it, in all seriousness the product is just finding it's feet....always open to suggestions, however. Keep the questions coming - always good to see what everyone thinks!
  14. We have stitched an loop into the end of my throwlines, so you can thread them through the pod's eye, around the end of the pod into a lark's foot on the ring. For quick release to pile hitch onto your line...this alleviates any need for knots to get caught in the line...I'd take a photo, but I'm not going to get my gear in this rain! Will post a photo when the sun shines!!
  15. Mark - no plans at the mo. Come and have a go with the 10oz at one of the shows or comps...I'll see if I can convince you about the weight!
  16. We look forward to hearing from you when you are back...enjoy the seafood and the sun - still raining here!
  17. Now that's what I like to hear, helicopters - affordable tree gear for nearly every occasion! Go for the Stein Hot Pink - not too expensive and does what it says on the tin - takes a bit of stretching to get rid of the memory, but it was a pleasant surprise how well it worked. Also, are you throwing out of a cube? If not, get one you'll never regret it!
  18. mistahbenn - can I just ask what line you use? Marcus uses ZingIt (1.7mm) and Petzl Airline, I use Dynaglyde (2mm) and Stein's Hot Pink (1.5mm) - we reckon these work well with both the 10oz and 8oz. However, the Dynaglyde is a bit soft and thick, so causes friction on rough barked trees!! Be good to find out what you are using. Tony
  19. Adam We still always have a couple of throwbags in the cube, for using around vulnerable ground features!! Glad to hear you are getting along with the Throwpod....any photos of it in use would be good! Tony
  20. Love the photo, Tree Machine! Let us know what you think.....how you get on with the Throwpod - we'd love to know! Tony & The Sawpod Team
  21. Woah! Never thought of that as a use for the Sawpod! Is that for real Alex?
  22. I quoted the wrong bit...this technology is not my bag! It's me Tony Darbyshire who has NOT off to Japan....don't know what happened to Loler UK!
  23. No, I didn't go anywhere! Still just outside Andover! Tony
  24. Grais Thanks for that! It is a rubber composite....and the composition is expensive! (It's not depleted uranium!!) They have now landed in the US....literally yesterday! Take a look and let us know what you think! Tony
