  1. Lengthen it for a start and add helper springs/roll bars! Leave it single cab but add storage for personal kelter that doesn't fit in the cab! Make a bolster frame for forwarding if you wish but a trayback or dropside is more than adequate for chips (with greedy boards) or carrying timber. A trayback (aussie style) with pins would be light too!
  2. Awake early as Caz on the early shift, I stayed at hers to take farm dog to vets. Woody is a great GSD thar has a wonderful temperament but suffers with very sore skin. Poor lad will rub himself raw at times. Tried different diets and various pills but it has come back again, going to ask vets and antihistamines and low dose steroids with a strict diet. Then home to fit new alternator to toy car and do stuff there. Be good all of you! Teak, Ache.
  3. Did more Lasagne yesterday, made my own bechemal sauce, preferred the stuff in a jam jar though! Made a vat of pea and ham soup with yellow split peas. She right rated the soup but it is very windy and I dont need that level of fibre in my diet!
  4. Diane Keaton. Actress, 79.
  5. Got the wrong song, he was Moody Blues!
  6. Still in bed but need that visit! Got a cup of Yorkshire's finest. No doubt she will conjure up a few jobs for me. Bonus daughter having broken her ankle and being off her feet adds to the workload too. Litter, Rare, Reagent.
  7. Moody Blues singer, John Lodge recently died. 82. Went off skipping a light fandango?
  8. Viv Prince, manic drummer with the Pretty Things in the 1960's. Taught Keith Moon how to behave proper! Was at Loughborough Grammer School when my Dad was Head Boy! Despite his wild life, he made it 84.
  9. Still in bed! Doing some cooking later, pea and ham soup, lasagne and a kedgeree i reckon! Dogs need walking and run to the tip with carpet bits as she had here stairs done! Enjoy your weekend. Terror, Firmer
  10. Not at your level at all but occasionally, we used to "mock quarter" a firewood lump to see the grain and teach the youngsters what all it was about, difficult and time consuming on a butt, but still worthwhile. Thanks for the explanation.
  11. How's your Yoof getting on Les?
  12. Supposed to be warm today. Off to collect two big boxes of logs for her spot and spend an hour gassing and will try to get time to see a man who owns my old hot rod too. If an alternator turns up for mine, get it ready to go to car meeting tomorrow as well! Found three old socket sets yesterday but still short of a 19mm and ratchet from the Mac box which maddens! Might get a beer in town tonight too! Be good and safe today please! Jay, cob, Brie, Smock.
  13. Recently lost a troubled cousin who was at Toscaig out on Wester Ross. I've enjoyed the sales stuff I did in Scotland and the places it took me but it can be bleak and wild and I dont think that helped her or her family.
  14. Forecast is decent for the next few days. I'm told that the country had the worst harvest on record, wet when we wanted dry, dry when we needed some wet and so on all year. Think they only got the crops in a few weeks back in some spots. Pottering in the garage again, might get around to cleaning out the truck and going through the various tool boxes getting those in order. Got a load of car bits etc for the tip but they class it as non household so dont like to take it! Not enough to make a load for scrap run either! Sank, Hassle.
  15. Up and away to Heathrow for Tom's next DnD adventure. Sick Week takes up a load of time at the strips around Tenesee and Alabama. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/50674091 Piece, Whooper.
  16. Got admit, I just sold ex fil Yeti 4x4 with DSG. Would tow 2 tonne, and smooth too. 150hp and that DSG box was very, very good! Iffy looks on MK1, better in MK2.
  17. Got to admit, when the GreenMech trucks broke down, I dont know who the fleet policy was with but they didn't impress. I vowed to lie to them if I broke down again. Single bloke goes to the back of the queue every time. I blew an engine and said that the engine was sized, do not send a man in the van, just send the recovery truck and two hours later, guess what? Man in a van arrives to diagnose a siezed engine and truck needed! Get home 9 hours later. Next time, "dont send a van unless he has an intercooler, van turns up at 3 hours and diagnosed a bust intercooler, recovery truck needed. Got home 12 hours later. Next time, "dont send a van unless he has a new engine, recovery truck arrives and takes me 3 miles to services where I wait. Getting home nearly 10 hours later! Next time, "engine overheat, limp home mode", recovery truck turns up and no tools, left at services for 6 hours, got home 5 later! Next time, "flat tyre and spare not removable (bust mechanism)", 6 hour wait......plugged the hole, told me not to go further than 50 miles in a 110 mile trip and not faster than 40pmh..... Not much faith in any of them,
  18. Neighbours away so fettle toy car today, trip to tip and prep for Tom's trip to the States. Got to get him to Heathrow for 4am. Be good y'all! Can, Dee, Caine.
  19. Chipolata she told me!
  20. Was going to add sausage?
  21. Going forward, I need to organise this, who do you use or recommend? I got a Disco 4 and a toy car. So I'd go personal rather than vehicle based. I did wonder about a family policy but there are 4 addresses for us all!
  22. You still in Glasgow Charlie?
  23. Not starting new role until the end of the month Les. It will be a bit of a rude awakening too! The body clock has me awake early but early starts and early finish for something an hour away is different! High cloud and breezy here. Be good everyone and hope the phonecwas busy bringing in work! Chew, Pitta.
  24. Any members had experience of 5th wheel caravans? Cost of insurance? Hints and tips?
