  1. No disrespect to Pete, but any salesman/company employee has to belive in their product and put its case forward as its the best bit of kit to buy. Just like your boss has to go and tell customers that you'd make a better job of their tree than joe bloggs down the road!
  2. Ok, It just so happens I'm on call his weekend and will be sat at home waiting for the phone to ring so I'll dig through the pics and make a thread up.
  3. Hope your mate makes a speedy recovery. It always seems to take something as serious as this for people to learn lessons. 55 Minutes is unacceptable for ambulance arrival, but did the company supply a full job sheet for the job including an emergency plan with a grid referance to give to emergency services?
  4. The environment Agency use them ocassionally to clear willows from river banks. Its much safer having a shear on the end of a 20 ton excavator than a man in a boat with a chainsaw! Also seen them used to restore heathland, the machine will just shear a tree off swing round and drop on fire or in chipper its a lot less labour intensive!
  5. Did wonder if you'd be over here at some point Jim:ciao:
  6. Thanks Yep I certainly have! Its hydraulic, there is also an auxilary circuit to run the log splitter.
  7. Thats the start of another thread LOL! pro's & cons of LR V JAP
  8. with a little help from a friend!
  9. barsteward things?! I would like another a dedicated tipper. not likely to happen in the near future. Ally greedy boards won't be cheap the good thing about ours is they are double skinned so if we sling logs in the back the inside can be dented to hell but from the outside it still looks new!
  10. I'd go for ally, it looks smart and you don't want ply sides going tatty on a new truck in a few months. As for a roof I suppose it would stop chippings flying out and over the cab. does it have to be a rigid roof. one firm around here has made to measure tarp roofs. here is a pic of my boards
  11. In theory! practice is a different matter!
  12. And am In right in thinking thats coming from someone who views the Agency from the outside? Hell fire if you saw their paperwork on the inside of the organisation........
  13. Thought you were going to say Brooksby! The guy went from passing his cross cut and stack to Asserors tickets in two years! One of the reasons I never went there for ARb Courses. If you want ARB training in Leicestershire Park Hill Training are highly recommended.
  14. I have the Husky at work, I only run a 15" bar, but it came standard with 18. I like the heated handles. All my on saws are stihl though, I prefer the easier dismantling for maintenance. It depends what your used to though.
  15. Hmm sounds like a story I've heard, drop us a pm mate with the college you attended if you don't wanna name and shame here! Have you heasrd about reasonably new NPTC training centre at Seagrave?
  16. Some of the symptoms are the same as Hand Arm vibration Syndrome or white finger. Your doing the best thing seeing the doctor. i wouldn't advise taking asprin daily to thin the blood until its been recommended by a doctor. Even if it is white finger there are things you can do about it, gloves, careful maintenance of the saws you use, heated handles, etc etc. Good Luck!
  17. yeah, yeah, yeah, if you bloody climbers didn't go hiding posts!!!
  18. yeah seen the pics tonight on the puter! don't seem to be much he don't do LOL!
  19. No it wasn't that! Cos I didn't search! I couldn't find where to search!
  20. cheers! How come I couldn't find it?!
  21. Just looking on Ea web pages now, I know at least 2 local firms that are registered Look Here http://www.netregs.gov.uk/netregs/275207/276315/1418523/ Like everything its open to interpretation!
  22. Is there a post archive on this forum or do posts just disappear after a while, there was a good Arial Rescue thread here a few weeks ago, I can't find it now? Matt
  23. December isn't a problem on my jobs as I can get the Land Rover into most of them so dark ain't an issue! In all seriousness, last week we were loading up in the dark, getting setup onsite just as it was getting light.
  24. Hi John, I never saw you at APF last year, I think it was just a case of too much to see! I saw you at the AA and had the cash in me pocket but got called back home due to the flooding! I'll have another look at the bunf and website and then come back with more specific questions. Cheers for your help Matt
