  9. nope, look again, there is a hinge where it should be. its all in thirds roughly. gob is a third, then the hinge, then the back cut...at least thats how i see it

  12. it did say on the youtube listing they were felled where there was no decayed wood. they do look like they'd fell to be fair but i guess theres a limit to what we can see

  14. hi pedro. yes i did think about this a while back but got sidetracked after opening up the alaskan mill page.....i'll give it some more attention this week.

  18. the only people who should get the hump with that were are that know deep down that they aren't the right person for the job
  19. experts are usually out there doing the job in my experience, the ones that can't cut the mustard end up in jobs in an advisory capacity.....thats obviously a generalisation on my part and not meaning to tar all with the same brush
  20. interesting question, not one i can answer. although i would think if you put a caveat in writing that the customer signed you should have covered yourself.

The guy in that clip is a very experienced big tree faller, i dare say more so that anybody on this forum(perhaps any of the others too), im sure he anticpated the possibility of failure and his rapid escape shows his general awareness of the task at hand. Good on him making the video public i say.
