  1. Main container doors are always closed, but we have a hole cut in the side of the container that leads directly into the shop
  2. After looking at all the other options we decided to stick with Sorbus and upgraded to the PiCUS 3 and took delivery of the new unit today along with a few hours training. Massive improvement on the old device and very much slimmed down to all fit on one nice neat case. Going to be twice as quick to use once i've fully got to grips with it. I have quite a backlog of tests to get through due to the old unit breaking down a few weeks back, so look forward to putting it through its paces.
  3. Surely you’re not suggesting eggs might have been a bit outspoken? 🙄😀
  4. Are you actually going to gain anything by taking it up?
  5. About time Millions of unemployed Brits 'coasting on the hard work of taxpayers' to lose benefits in back to work shake-up APPLE.NEWS Millions of unemployed Brits "choosing to coast on the hard work of taxpayers" will stop receiving benefits in a fresh shake-up...
  6. The combination of impressive performance and outstanding service has sealed the deal on a GreenMech EVO 205D woodchipper for leading Wiltshire-based arborists Conservation Contractors. While the EVO 205D is the first machine on their fleet from GreenMech, it has quickly cemented its status as the most-utilised, with peace of mind that the daily demands will not result in costly downtime thanks to the first-class back-up support from local dealers GA Groundcare Ltd. Entrusted on a wide variety of projects from high-end domestic to commercial, including local authority work and nationwide contracts which sees them responsible for the ongoing external maintenance of hospital and residential homes, the EVO 205D has been busy since its delivery in July 2023. Daniel Butler, Manager of the Arb Division, explains how this demand, coupled with previous struggles with breakdowns and repairs lead Conservation Contractors to GreenMech. “We pride ourselves on delivering the very best service to all of our customers and this means having equipment that is fully-operational and at our disposal, at all times. We don’t have the luxury of a raft of spare chippers in the yard. If something fails, we need it running as soon as possible and with our ageing 8” machine, the service and back up support we were receiving was not where we needed it to be.” He continues, “GA Groundcare Ltd have helped us out on more than one occasion, with loan GreenMech machines which was ultimately a big factor in our recent purchase.” “Like everything, there’s been a big rise in the costs of arboricultural equipment, but the EVO came in at a reasonable price and the team were really impressed by its performance.” The largest machine in GreenMech’s EVO Series, the 205D boasts a generous in-feed hopper and unparalleled processing power for a machine in its category – tackling the biggest of tasks with both reliability and ease. “The size, versatility and user-friendliness of this machine has seen it become our go-to for most jobs that come our way, it’s out on a daily basis.” Daniel emphasises, “The team have no complaints, and from an investment point of view, the fact we have dealer support 3-miles down the road and the no quibble 3-year parts and labour warranty gives us no doubt that the GreenMech was the right decision.”
  7. Don’t think a dehumidifier would cut it
  8. The real question is does he have the balls or even power to back up his words Rishi Sunak to bring in emergency law after court’s Rwanda ruling APPLE.NEWS PM says legislation will ‘confirm’ Rwanda is safe country for asylum seekers – and says he is prepared to defy ECHR if necessary
  9. Think you’re living in the past a bit there mate, there’s no shortage of women in Arb these days, and some of them are doing pretty good out of it
  10. Depending on the situation up top I don’t think a gobs going to be much use at all with that tree
  11. Yep already got the container. It’s bolted onto the back of our shop for storage. It was fine till we started putting the heater on in the shop, now it just rains with condensation and we had to pull everything out of it
  12. Does anyone have any experience insulating a lorry container? Guys usually use for such jobs has given me a price but he is unsure if glueing sheets to the container will cause condensation issues with the gaps in the corrugating
  13. Personally think he’s onto something. Ps, you might not hear from me for a while, currently sitting on my car bonnet in full camo parked outside Stirling lines in the hope of a job.

  15. A year ago maybe, these days I don’t know what to believe with all the AI imagery going around 😀
  16. Unless you have a specific need to retain that tree such as for habitat, screen etc, then all you’re ever going to be doing is polishing a turd in a regular basis for several years to come. I agree with mark, 100% reduction 😀
  17. Rate will probably drop by then. There’s a reason why banks have been offering the best rates ever on 10 year mortgage deals
  18. I have a charity in Leicester is looking for a donation of some wood chips if anyone is able to help out? Free access to the arbtalk tip site directory in return.
  19. If you re-read my post I didn't say there wasn't plenty of work around, there is at the moment.
  20. I was having a discussion some months ago with someone (I forget who) that was saying that the building industry was grinding to a halt. My response to that was that it wasn’t what I was seeing in my area, with lots of large new build estates still popping up all over the place. He then pointed out that what I was seeing was projects that had been in the pipeline for many months or years in some cases, but there was no new developments coming through. Moving on a few months in still seeing plenty of building going on, however I was speaking to a new client yesterday(builder) who basically told me the same story and how a lot of builders are being layed off all over the place, sometimes in large numbers. Builders have had it pretty good for quite a few years now and are probably going to be in for a bit of a shock when they realise they can’t command a £300-£400 a day wage anymore. Obviously this will have a knock on effect to tree work and the wider economy. Curious if those of you who carry out any significant amount of work for builders/developers having seen a noticeable slowdown in the amount of work you’re getting?
