  1. Yep already got the container. It’s bolted onto the back of our shop for storage. It was fine till we started putting the heater on in the shop, now it just rains with condensation and we had to pull everything out of it
  2. Does anyone have any experience insulating a lorry container? Guys usually use for such jobs has given me a price but he is unsure if glueing sheets to the container will cause condensation issues with the gaps in the corrugating
  3. Personally think he’s onto something. Ps, you might not hear from me for a while, currently sitting on my car bonnet in full camo parked outside Stirling lines in the hope of a job.
  4. Suella Braverman sacked as home secretary as Sunak reshuffles cabinet – UK politics live APPLE.NEWS Home secretary sacked after inflammatory comments over policing of protests ; former prime minister David Cameron seen at No 10
  5. A year ago maybe, these days I don’t know what to believe with all the AI imagery going around 😀
  6. Unless you have a specific need to retain that tree such as for habitat, screen etc, then all you’re ever going to be doing is polishing a turd in a regular basis for several years to come. I agree with mark, 100% reduction 😀
  7. Rate will probably drop by then. There’s a reason why banks have been offering the best rates ever on 10 year mortgage deals
  8. I have a charity in Leicester is looking for a donation of some wood chips if anyone is able to help out? Free access to the arbtalk tip site directory in return.
  9. If you re-read my post I didn't say there wasn't plenty of work around, there is at the moment.
  10. I was having a discussion some months ago with someone (I forget who) that was saying that the building industry was grinding to a halt. My response to that was that it wasn’t what I was seeing in my area, with lots of large new build estates still popping up all over the place. He then pointed out that what I was seeing was projects that had been in the pipeline for many months or years in some cases, but there was no new developments coming through. Moving on a few months in still seeing plenty of building going on, however I was speaking to a new client yesterday(builder) who basically told me the same story and how a lot of builders are being layed off all over the place, sometimes in large numbers. Builders have had it pretty good for quite a few years now and are probably going to be in for a bit of a shock when they realise they can’t command a £300-£400 a day wage anymore. Obviously this will have a knock on effect to tree work and the wider economy. Curious if those of you who carry out any significant amount of work for builders/developers having seen a noticeable slowdown in the amount of work you’re getting?
  11. Those thigh length boots are all the rage in a America, some people still swear by them 🙄
  12. There’s other tomograms than picus but they all basically do the same thing. Nothing else out there that I’m aware of. There was thermal imagine quite a few years back but that just turned out to be a big scam. not always necessary to do multiple tests, depends on the circumstances
  13. As I said, didnt like them at all and couldnt wait to swap them over to the short gaffs.
  14. Yep exactly what Pete said. The single thing I found they excelled on was penetrating through Ivy due to the angle.
  15. When they first came out the euro gaffs were pretty much default, had to special order regular gaffs.
  16. My first pair had the euro gaffs, horrendous things! Tried and tried to get used to them but gave up and bought the short gaffs. Can't see any reason for them to gaff out other than muscle memory. Perhaps you just need to learn to angle your legs slightly differently.
  17. Short spikes are better. What spurs did you have before? A slight different angle can really throw off your muscle memory but you WILL adjust. How long have you been persevering?
  18. Still got 1000 rolls in the loft left over from first lockdown
  19. Brain power dropped among over-50s during Covid-19 pandemic, study shows APPLE.NEWS Cognitive skills, such as memory, waned - possibly linked to stress, loneliness and alcohol, study shows.
  20. Rain all night and apparently it’s chaos here again judging by posts in the local Facebook group. Certainly not as bad as the other week and for the most part people are just being hysterical. Roads are closed, schools are closing etc etc. if there’s one thing the nation learned exceptionally well from covid it’s how to be as lazy as possible, and how it’s acceptable to cower under a rock at the first sign of trouble or hardship. anyway, before the electricity goes out I must go and make myself a hot chocolate and snuggle under my blanket
