    a better buy for sure
  3. If it was Elm you'd be on here asking for advice on how to split it easier ?

Consider one of these sharpening kits. They make it practically impossible to do it wrong.
  5. @RC0 was always a big fan when living in the UK, although I don't belive he used it for anything other than carrying tools. I agree, kitted out with a chip box it would be quite an eye catcher
  6. Maybe I mean even further west, like America ?
  7. Never been a transit fan. I do like the japanese trucks but don't trust them off road. I would probably go for one regardless, unless you don't have a 4wd backup
  8. Am I right in thinking Jonsered was a west country thing? We had a dealer here years ago but I seem to recall them saying the brand was more prevelant in other parts of the country.
  9. basically yes. They are good saws

Thats absolutely horrendous. Go and ask for your money back. You'll be as well off just replacing the chain at this point i'm afraid.
  12. Shame you couldn’t have made it on the Stihl day. Lots of useful bits of information were learned
  13. Its all in the owners manual, but if you haven't got round to reading it heres a useful video guide showing the 2 ways of resetting a Stihl M-Tronic Chainsaw. This demonstration was carried out by a Stihl technician during a recent Arbtalk field day at Stihl HQ. Amongst the many topics discussed on the day, one of the most interesting was on the M-Tronic system. Offering a few Arbtalk members an insight into the simplicity of the system, and how to easily diagnose any issues. Stihl have produced a very handy and easy to read article which goes into more detail on the M-Tronic which is available at the following link STIHL M-Tronic technology - dispelling the myths

  15. I agree that winding that up is going to be a massive pain in the arse. A mini sidewinder would be a cool option

You can see the depth gauge in this image, which controls how deep the main cutting teeth go into the wood.

Can you post some close ups of the chain? It sounds like they have probably taken the depth gauges down too far. In which case the only option is to re-sharpen the teeth and leave the depth gauges alone. This time take it to someone who knows what they're doing.
  18. Not quite following. Not all fishing reals are the same though. Would a spincast do the job? https://www.anglingdirect.co.uk/abu-garcia-506-mkii-reel?gclid=CjwKCAjw2MTbBRASEiwAdYIpsbNFMvKCqaXRuLZLLDugw0bi4Kztw0tpUl1fUGEdk5_MRXPuzYrLxBoCL04QAvD_BwE
