  1. I'm not yet convinced it's a real person. a follow up post would give some feedback on the advice previously given,ie; get somebody local to check it out,and the results of the inspection, this is just the same post, now apparently with ivy removed?? must be fast growing ivy ,it wasn't mentioned in the original post. anyway gotta go, I'm asking somebody in Borneo about removing moss from my patio.
  2. I only mix fuel for myself,I encouraged the rest of the team to do likewise, and never use fuel other than your own,I never lend a saw to anyone else.never cooked a saw myself, seen a few that other have, usually when somebody else mixed the fuel, I once gave a talk on saw maintenance to a local organisation and out of 30 operators only 12 new how to mix ratios of fuel. 3 of them actually added oil to petrol til they thought it "looked about right", and two of them designated the mixing to somebody else in the gang, none of whom had any tickets or been told by anybody who had, as you would give the new guy a broom or get him to make the tea. I asked one guy to mix 5ltrs @50/1 without using a "one shot" and he had no idea how to achieve it . I later had a years contract with them and ran a gang of 14, the best two chainsaw operators were both girls in their 20,s. I should add these guys were pretty green and not seasoned old timers with years of experience behind them.

  4. same tree different day. if it bothers you so much you have to ask the same question every week or so, maybe you would rest easier if it were felled.
  5. the tree I'm referring to was a large beech, the part that hit the children was over or around 70 feet. this was not the recent incident.
  6. there were I was led to believe several concerns about the condition of the tree, that were either ignored or dismissed I was not personally involved with that individual tree, but in the period after the death and injuries caused by it the other surrounding woodland owners who opened to the public including my own place of residence took steps to avoid a repeat of it . there was an active court case that went on for years trying to apportion blame for the accident but the organisation was cleared of blame, many people around here, many of whom knew of the warnings that were not adhered to, but their opinions were not sought. I heard at one stage an attempt to hold the teacher/person in charge was even leveled, but dismissed.
  7. no, I'm not 100% familiar with this model, I didn't realise it was absent until you pointed it out. the muffler has been badly abused too, I'm going to attempt to salvage that, but at the moment it's wearing a stihl 090 muffler modded to fit my 2100 and 2101,s amazon have balls up my delivery of the mityvac and now I have to wait for that to be resolved before I can continue.
  8. as an old bastard of 72 I cannot image a life ending so tragically abruptly. I recal an incident a few years ago whereby a group of children were under the supervision of a teacher or leader of some sort who told them to pitch tents under a large and obvious to anyone with knowledge of unstable trees, with no apparent warning, no winds, or rain, that tree fractured and with devastating results, a loss of life of a young person who to quote Neil Young, " That's one more kid, that'll never go to school Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool" I felled an awful lot of trees after that tragic event around the area. maybe I and others like me contributed to saving a few from a similar fate.
  9. now I agree, you are being realistic, in fact you have more or less confirmed all that I previously stated. and yes I worked under plenty of cars, 4x4,s, lorries, and agricultural vehicles, still do at 72 when necessary, prefer a 4 post with wheels free capability. built and prepared rally spec cars, built rac spec roll cages, and played a large part in preparing a private paris/dakar 400hp small block powered 110 land rover.and built my own hot rods and raced them, so not unfamiliar with garage life at all. I like to think I have taught some budding enthusiastic trainees with enough knowledge and savvy not to take chances under elevated vehicles.
  10. now you're just being an argumentative thrush. I'll tell you one thing I do, "make sure the vehicle is stable and safe before going under it" oh and one thing I don't do is pray under the feckin' thing even if I checked it for proper placement on the lift.
  11. It originally came to me without spark, I had a good coil and replaced that, it now has a great spark, I had a generic good quality carb kit for the HL series and installed that after a thorough clean and inspection, I got it running but it revs uncontrollably, suggesting a leak somewhere, as these saws rev pretty low compared to more modern saws I need to pressure test for leaks, etc. looking at previous sales of this particular model they appear to be quite rare and fetch in some cases high prices, I don't want to sell it at all, but I would like to restore it to a working and usable condition.
  12. I suspect drugs or alcohol play a large part of some of the powers [or lack of] reasoning on here.either that or psychiatric units now have unlimited internet access. but I have no idea why they chose this forum, and seem to concentrate on certain individuals.
  13. feck me, by your reasoning you must get thousands of anti trump links, those algorithms must be close to burning out. your the one who DOESN'T UNDERSTAND, nobody is suggesting praying in any form was responsible for the accident, that's all in your feckin' head, nobody elses. it is as was reported by the news article what the victim was doing at the time the vehicle fell on him, all your frantic inane ranting and diatribe about hse and acts of god are your ramblings nobody elses.
  14. yes and has anyone checked the color of the accident victim? they come in more than one color, I believe there's even white ones.
  15. I'll give it a go, its in bits at the moment, but I'll try and get a few pics.
  16. I too have google, but you are obviously more familiar with how to use it. thank you for the link.
  17. but clearly as vocal as you are about your views of him. or your almost maniacal search to discredit the president of america.
  18. Having worked for one of the uk's leading 4x4 and off-road outfits I can assure you and everyone else, mechanics do not unpack parts, sit and wait for oil to drain, have their feckin' lunch or choose under a loaded ramp as their place of worship. this event is clearly down to operator error, bad placement of the vehicle, or faulty/poorly maintained equipment, or lack of supervision by those in charge, maybe they dare not say anything about his choice of location for fear of being accused of racism, or anti muslim? what makes this case stand out, is the fact that he chose to pray directly beneath a car on a two post vehicle hoist, a minimum of common sense would have suggested this was not a good location choice. especially given the outcome. trying to imply the op is a racist simply because he brought it to the "making the news today" thread is a somewhat desperate attempt to chastise the poster.
  19. I think certain behavior can make you walk like that!
  20. yes that's the one, I'll give them a look, thank you, the carb isn't like my other HL series, in as much as only one mixture screw, and the tickover screw actually goes into the venturi and directly contacts the plate, rather than the usual means of on the outside linkage. Have you a link for rowena,, I'm getting directed to some ancient witchcraft chick!
  21. It's looking to be the best course of action, the saw in question has a suspected air leak as it goes into a "runaway"situation and revs to oblivion if you allow it, I made the mistake of lending my pressure tester to a less than honorable cnut who has moved house without first returning it. I have another arriving today, which will hopefully confirm my suspicions. I cant find much info on the carb either, a Tillotson HL220AX. its not even listed on Tillotsons site.
  22. Every good idea, then becomes a business, and then ends up a racket. as for the tooled up police tough guys elsewhere within this thread, all tough guys in a field full of pacifists. pig wankers.
  23. Anyone know a source for Husqvarna A100 crank seals, or a part# or anything from another model that will fit and do the same job. tia.
  24. one of the worlds greatest comedy minds.
