  1. I got the venom 22 ton as it suited my current needs, I agree it isn't the fastest splitter out there, but at 72 I probably would soon tire of trying to keep up with the fastest even the wife can use it too, I used an axe for much of my younger days, cheap, didn't require any trailer, and if you got busy just buy another one and get a buddy to double the output I think if I was starting again I would seriously look at a full processor type machine. but I suppose it depends on the level of production you need, I only split for my own personal use these days, not sure the outlet is as good as it once was, I expect location plays a part, as does burning regulations.
  2. I have the VENOM 22-ton splitter, which can be towed up to 45mph. on UK roads legally, it doesn't have the log loader function, but it can be operated both vertical and horizontally, so bigger stuff can be rolled onto it in the vertical position.
  3. ok, then lets hope the op finds a similar way to achieve his aims.

  5. I see your in france, were you born there? or did you choose to move to france and get work there?
  6. You thinking "big cat"? not ridiculing you at all, had plenty of "incidents" over the last 50 or so years.
  7. I'm sure the op is aware of that,as am I, however maybe he will find a way instead of looking for an excuse not to do it. he did after all ask how to find work in Scandinavia, and may have a passport and was looking for a more work oriented reply. Do I need a visa for Scandinavia from the UK? Visa requirements You can travel without a visa to the Schengen area, which includes Norway, for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. This applies if you travel: as a tourist. to visit family or friends.
  8. never been to Scandinavia, but in my very much younger days was "nomadic" for a while, and lived in a Thames 15cwt van, I just drove around, Wiltshire, Wales, east Anglia, and many more locations, and I have Knocked on many doors asking for work, had a few that said no, but many gave me work, mending stuff, odd bit of felling, splitting, helping out at harvest, I'm thinking maybe a recreational trip to Scandinavia, and putting the word about, these days qualifications are required, if you have them, say so when making your inquiries, don't aim too high, if somebody gives you an opportunity, take it, do a good job, hopefully it will plant a good seed and you may get more offers on the back of it. Good Luck.
  9. Well I guess we all knew it was inevitable. RIP Prince of Darkness
  10. could be either as you say Stubby, but there is a distinct difference between the English sawn off shotgun and the Irish version.
  11. english sawn off, or irish sawn off?
  12. I asked as when I was felling there was a steady supply of surplus for firewood, if you intend to process firewood where would you source it from.
  13. Ok, understood, the fuel leak is right on the seam, and as you are aware the 2100 cannot be split and simply reassembled with gaskets like many other saws, I did some investigating and it appears many have tried numerous ways to cure leaking fuel tanks, using a sealer seemed to be the most common and effective method, next to swapping out for a 480 tank and losing the manual oiler. in my case the oiler seems to be working fine with no transfer of fuel to oil or vice versa, would this indicate the existing plunger seal was intact?
  14. how do you earn a living currently?
  15. I figured the oiler would be totally sealed from the fuel, are you saying this isn't so?
  16. keep the woodchipper running then, eh.
