  1. I'm thinking this is just one of many of similar posts asking for a solution to a perceived problem that will fade into obscurity without conclusion as did many others.
  2. hows about a girl?
  3. I kinda see ai as something humans thought of so they could appropriate blame to something other than themselves, or anyone else who could deny blame. their vision of ai purely from an observation of intelligence is that of terminator levels,,, my personal views based on current experience is it's more like a 1960,s twin tub.
  4. oh, it's another way of pigeonholing people into various invented sections, like alphabet idiots, and fecking mentally ill twats who think they are animals. looking at it the only thing that leaps out is fact each successive generation loses more of the ability to think for themselves, and a reliance on gadgets and tech, how many of those groups know how to feed themselves? the animal kingdom adapts to survive, the human race looks for the latest "app" oh well not long now and I can give less ****************s about it than I do currently.
  5. WTF is gen z??? or gen x???
  6. Picked up one of these today, looking to be in pretty good nick under all the usual muck, [why is it users don't look after saws and then wonder why it don't go anymore?] anyway looks like rather than tighten the chain as necessary they just let it chew the bar plates to hell. does anyone know if any of the other Stihl bar plates are the same, I'll pull a few Stihl plates tomorrow and see for myself, but just wondering if anybody was still awake at 11.45.
  7. oh ffs ,, and they had the bloody sword right there,if ever there was a missed opportunity, so close,,,,
  8. another old friend sadly passed, but left us a wealth of excellent memories., among them this, one of my favorites, it could be the soundtrack of my life.
  9. and after a few changes and departures transformed into "Leafhound" with mick halls on guitar, formally with the Brunning sunflower blues band, who went on to tour the blues circuit and now lives in California, unless he's moved again, I was regularly in touch with him but not for many years. the family tree includes branches containing fleetwood mac, john mayall, paul kossoff, peter green, savoy brown, free, foghat, cactus, atomic rooster, and many others from the british blues era,bit different to todays music that has a lifespan of about 3 weeks before it's forgotten and replaced with the next short lived manufactured replacement. Leafhound reformed with Peter French still on vocals, and still playing today.
  10. I was once asked to "assist" in the recovery of goods fitted to a hotel/country club project that had clearly gone south, the bloke responsible had fleeced just about everyone involved in it and I was with the heating installer as he didn't fancy going alone, we had already removed the new boiler that had not been paid for, and moved on to pipework and rads, valves etc, so I'm in one of the rooms and the door bursts open and six feckin' huge guys enter the room with a little attitude, I grab a couple of copper off cuts and hoping to show them my amateur escrima skills asks, "ok, who's first" matey is behind me with an adjustable wrench looking rather nervous. they all look a little taken aback by my willingness for combat,, and the front guy says,," steady mate we're just here to collect the snooker table that hasn't been paid for" I have to admit I was a bit relieved, all day people were turning up to salvage what they could from the work they had done and were never to get paid for, carpets, lighting, tables, various items of furniture. It later transpired the con man who was the culprit in this had done similar previously, and a couple of rather suspect insurance jobs. I expect those that got burned were a bit dubious about starting the next job without at least a sizable deposit for work they were contracted for.
  11. how about a nice patio,,
  12. Indeed, the internet is awash with conflicting reports from both sides, highlighting the very point I was making. and it's not restricted to recent events, it's been going on for years, it doesn't take much searching to find similar in the Russia/Ukraine scenario, in the '60,s it was "baby killing" gi,s. war is fought on many levels, and the media are always glad to assist in fanning the flames whether true or false.
  13. THE PENIS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD. feckin' space bar!
