  1. I asked as when I was felling there was a steady supply of surplus for firewood, if you intend to process firewood where would you source it from.
  2. Ok, understood, the fuel leak is right on the seam, and as you are aware the 2100 cannot be split and simply reassembled with gaskets like many other saws, I did some investigating and it appears many have tried numerous ways to cure leaking fuel tanks, using a sealer seemed to be the most common and effective method, next to swapping out for a 480 tank and losing the manual oiler. in my case the oiler seems to be working fine with no transfer of fuel to oil or vice versa, would this indicate the existing plunger seal was intact?
  3. how do you earn a living currently?
  4. I figured the oiler would be totally sealed from the fuel, are you saying this isn't so?
  5. keep the woodchipper running then, eh.
  6. MS90F a thing of beauty, you got some interesting stuff there, I haven't found anything yet with a nordfeller fitted, I have used a 20t jack on the odd occasion, but that weighs more than the saw.
  7. Ok, another Tale from me and the late big John. so I bought this old 35cwt transit drop side, got it cheap as it had the useless v4 in it. I'm struggling along with it as it's a good solid truck, I'm thinking of putting a diesel of some kind in it for economy, the usual kinda thing that was around at the time was a perkins 4108, or similar. talking to John in the pub we get around to talking about a replacement engine for the snail like transit, John suddenly announces,," I know where there's a good engine, it's brand new in a crate" really John? "yeah It's a mate of mine got it" so Saturday morning were off to see this new engine, I'm kinda thinking it's gonna be a waste of time but hoping I'm wrong. we rock up at the guys house and head for the garage, sure enough there a crate with FORD written all over it, "what is it?" I ask, "don't rightly know not good with engines" "ok lets have a look" gets a pry bar starts opening the crate, "how did you manage to buy an engine but don't know what it is" "Er,, I didn't buy it" and quickly added "it's not hot" I prize the top from the crate and immediately recognize the engine, it's a Ford V6 Essex motor, and not just any old v6,, it's a 3.1 a feckin' RS 3.1 not nicked you say? ok , what's the story, well guys a swimming pool builder, and he builds a pool for some customer who then decides he cant, or wont pay, so he starts down the usual route, solicitors, letters, etc, etc, this is how John gets involved, engine guy is a mate of his so naturally Johns offered to er,,, help! so John pays them a visit and discovers a very irate wife who has discovered her husband is screwing someone else, presented with this John is about to leave and the woman says, if he's not feckin' with his bloody car, he's off screwing someone else. and there's the crate engine, "I'll take that as part payment" help yourself she says. so he did. 3 months later after numerous letters, phone calls etc, it transpires the adulterer has run of to Europe somewhere with the new squeeze and vanished, she owns the house so matey boy has shitout, she comes up with some cash for the pool to avoid any ccj and he keeps the engine. "feck me what a story, ok how much?" "two hund,,"DONE", I hold out my hand and he shakes it, red quid" result. two weeks later the engine is in the transit, facilitated by the v6 bellhousing, on the tranny box, and the diesel front panel to accommodate the extra length of the v6, soon it has the required 500 mile running in period and boy this thing can really move, the acceleration is frightening for an old transit truck, due to the rear axle ratio, and a little care needed in the wet, but ton and half on the back and it doesn't even know its there. and at sensible speed it's no worse on fuel than the v4 as it's barely ticking over and has bags of torque, John is itching to drive it,, but I'll tell you about that next time.
  8. It might be a good idea to install a couple of trail cameras on your property, placed at strategic points but not obvious to any potential trespassers intent on tree damage, could prove useful at a later date.
  9. At the sensible suggestion of a fellow member,[thanks, you know who you are] this is the place to post those saws ya'll have either tucked away, or being used to pay the bills, all welcome, saw related stuff only please. ok lets give a shot. here's most of mine, I can do more pics of individual saws if need be.
  10. I call most things as I see them, I wasn't aware I had threatened anyone? you're the one who suddenly turned up wanting my address, and claiming others wanted it too, as you appear to be in france I see no point in giving you any details at all, however the lesson I have learnt is to simply ignore you and not allow you to succeed in annoying me any further.
  11. thank you for that, it makes much sense. I'm not used to this level of online conflict, I come from an era where you faced your accuser and reacted accordingly. simply put, "the way I look is down to me,, my attitude is down to those around me".
  12. just as I thought more evasive questions, and no answers.
  13. I know how,, the question was have you got something you want to say to my face. yes or no, or are you just gonna shout from the back too.. so who's "US"
  14. why you already stated you don't believe me! who's "us" I don't get asked by anyone else. or you got something you wanna say to my face?
  15. what I did notice, and have been noticing for some time now is the number of posts so elaborate and purposeful in their construction that it would be almost impossible for one not to notice that their main purpose was to antagonize a particular person, something they succeed at every time, I am also aware that anyone agreeing or even associating with said person is automatically ignored or equally antagonized even if they ask a perfectly reasonable question about saws, but think nothing about entering any thread with yet another similar post to get a rise from the same person. someone said a while back that the members engaged in this behavior would not be as keen to meet face to face and act the same way, they were correct, and there's a good reason for that. anonymity can give certain people enormous superiority as they will never get a punch in the mouth, in reality they got a lot to say,, usually from the back stirring up others at the front. I believe they are known as cowards.
  16. but evidently quite popular with the mad hatter on here.
  17. that feckin' Andy Warhol gets around don't he, I thought he was dead.
  18. thank you, that's what I was planning to do exactly, now you have given me a positive example.
  19. oh, evasive bullshite that you think makes you look clever, but just convinces me of every thought I previously had about you, you are just an unfunny condescending cnut with an unhealthy fixation on trump and just about anyone who doesn't agree with you. I doubt you know much about those saws, which in itself is feckin' astounding, as you think your the feckin' expert on every other subject under the sun. I'm a pretty neutral guy in most respects but you are working very hard to sway me from that. you are just as guilty of straying from the definitive subject of the thread, any thread, but of course that's ok 'cos your very "special" I don't doubt you could answer many of the questions asked of you but you avoid them, probably to bathe in the apparent attention it gets, there's probably a medical term for it, you are probably an expert in that field too. recent events in media have shown undoubtedly fanatics who display similar behaviors as you project are generally hiding something far more sinister.
  20. I got 3 new saws to my collection this weekend, a Stihl 08, Homelite xl12[a real one] and a Lombard super lightning. what's your opinion on those, or any other saws . @SP
