    UPS Scam?

shouldn't have to ring anybody, any legit correspondence would have relevant genuine info supplied, and if the sons us transaction is to a US address, why are you being contacted in the uk. I'v had this happen before, a parcel is on route from a courier and suddenly an email, text, claiming to be from the said couriers turns up with no relevant information asking to be contacted, I never have answered any of them, and the legit parcel always arrived on time with the tracking supplied. who exactly are you going to phone? not any of the numbers on this strange letter surely?

    UPS Scam?

Ignore it then. Fraudulent Text Messages, Phone Calls and Other Communications In addition to fraudulent websites and emails, fraudsters also may use the telephone, text messages, a fax machine, letters, or other communication methods in an attempt to gather your personal information. These fraudulent communications are the unauthorised actions of third parties not associated with UPS. Fraudulent communications claiming to be from UPS may claim to indicate a parcel is waiting to be delivered. These communications will generally ask you for personal information and/or a payment in advance of receiving a parcel, or may indicate a need to update your account by obtaining personal information or a copy of your UPS invoice. The links in the text messages may contain malware or direct to a fraudulent website. If UPS contacts you regarding a parcel, the UPS representative will always be able to provide a tracking number, which you can verify on our website. You also should know that UPS may contact you from time to time regarding service offerings or for marketing purposes, but you may always verify our phone number and call back before proceeding. If you are ever unsure of the validity of a communication, ask for the caller's first and last name and a call-back telephone number. If you are unsure of the validity of a text, do not click or select any links or open any attachments as they may contain a virus.

  7. Yesterday my daughter e-mailed me AGAIN, asking why I didn't do something useful with my time. "Like sitting around the pool and drinking beer is not a good thing?" I asked. Talking about my "doing-something-useful" seems to be her favorite topic of conversation. I did this and when I got home last night, I decided to play a prank on her. I e-mailed her and told her that I had joined a Parachute Club. She replied, "Are you nuts? You are 86-years-old and now you're going to start jumping out of airplanes?" I told her that I even got a Membership Card and e-mailed a copy to her. She immediately telephoned me and yelled, "Good grief, Dad, where are your glasses?! This is a Membership to a Prostitute Club, not a Parachute Club." "Oh man, I'm in trouble again," I said. "I really don't know what to do. I signed up for five jumps a week!!" The line went dead. Life as a Senior Citizen is not getting any easier, but sometimes it can be fun.
