  1. First time I met with it was about 2002 when a work colleague said his cousins friend (immediate red flag) had seen someone drop their wallet while shopping in London and returned it to the person, a middle Eastern man, he wanted to give her £10 for being so honest but she refused so he said "You have been very kind, let me give you some good advice, don't be in London at the weekend!" Quick Google sorted that one out as it was repeated across many platforms over many months. In most cases gullibility is the problem but I really struggle with cases like this.
  2. Not really I see them at the usual (funerals etc) as we are the length of the country away. If my attitude to other nations is negative why would I talk to middle Eastern people, eat Indian/Italian/Chinese etc food, go on foreign holidays, I've been to over 24 different countries from Sri Lanka in the east to the Americas in the west and from the Falklands to the Kola inlet in Russia, but you think I'm negative about other nations. Not interesting, just stupidity or not understanding.
  3. We ain't that daft! Ours is in a trust, doesn't matter how dottle we get the bin lids get it.
  4. So do you go somewhere that you know no one or don't speak the lingo? It was an example of WHY people leave their country, some really narrow views on this site!
  5. No I didn't, you just didn't understand it correctly
  6. Yes I do my cousin married one, he's a retired university chancellor, a Muslim (but does have an occasional drink). You seem think everyone is a stereotype, so what are you? A potato eating drunk or a cossack of the plains or one of Putin's sleepers?
  7. You're showing how stupid you really are now, I'm retired and they are on holiday, it's a fairly big holiday destination with several caravan parks, the Muslim families were on a day trip.
  8. Only recently, go check out population increase since @ 1800 from 10M to 50M in 1950, that was us getting on with it plus some migrants necessary for the industrial revolution to increase our coffers. We filled this land. How can you possibly know that for every single migrant? Let's take Syria for example. Over 200 000 extrajudicial killings (23 000+ kids and 12 000 + women just let that sink in a bit) major benefits for Syrian refugees is staying above ground. 96K enforced disappearances 15k+ deaths under torture! Barrel bombs, cluster bombs, chemical weapons... Its repeated the world round in various ways, if you are gay/lesbian, Christian/Hindu/Muslim...etc etc
  9. Nah, not having that either, ALL, my puckered wrinkly sphincter. I was fishing from my local pier yesterday afternoon and perhaps 8-10 Muslim women (modestly dressed, head to foot but open faces, no niqab/burka just a headscarf) came past and were asking, in pretty good English, if we had caught anything and as I had they asked what kind, what size, did I keep it, are they good to eat etc. Later as I was packing up they were coming back down the pier and we continued chatting, they were from Bradford, with their husbands who were just walking along a few metres ahead and unconcerned that their wives were talking to little old white me! Did any British ask me about the fishing, or about life in general? Apart from little kids or other anglers asking if we had caught, not one and that's the norm. Another norm is Muslim men who fish the pier, the majority are respectful and engaging and seem to know a lot of the local anglers. Now this doesn't mean that every Muslim person will be like that, same as not every white british person will be aloof and not engaging with people who they pass, just the same as not all those newcomers wanted there little Pakistan or Honduras or India……
  10. Yeah, housing costs, front and centre of every migrants thoughts 🙄
  11. No, not having that! I pushed them up somehow in the 80's. We had a new build (social housing) 2 bed end terrace of 3 houses in 85/6, £18 900, we sold it two years later for £38 000, the house building trade took off for 5 years until supply outstripped demand and building almost stopped but prices didn't.
  12. S-i-L has had several problems in a different business, he makes wooden garden buildings. He explains that the building requires a solid base or sub base and can provide them or the client can sort that BUT it must be level and straight and the correct size. People still have non - , level, straight or correct sized bases and expect doors and windows to open and close. This is pointed out verbally and in the small print but he still has problems with clients and has had to take down the building and either build the base or take away the building because they are idiots and think he's in the wrong. Not my business but I would close that door and if it was arb work I wouldn't take it on (not an arb but business is business).
  13. Glitter, Savile, Harris, etc etc Total scapegoating
  14. I like this remix... https://youtu.be/pSq3-lE377Q?si=KZj1MwZGG2q1g-RV
  15. I'm sure that the class would enjoy it anyway.
  16. Calling @eggsarascal, 48 hours have elapsed since the people you know saw said buses containing around 100 asylum seekers, reading broadly it seems that the rumours started being refuted about 6 or so days ago, so there is a irregularity there and we still have no evidence apart from "my mate said..." Care to comment?
  17. Well he won't be paying for them I would imagine as he can be seen asking for donations outside a 4 star hotel he was staying at in Havana before going to the Bahamas to finalise publication of his film. However I'm sure that if he does need funds then he'll sell his villa in Spain 🤞
  18. Well that escalated quickly! I question whether the WRWC opener and a weekend of weddings and celebrations should have been sacked off the sit here with popcorn? So the title is "Convince me..." but there's no way anyone can, you're so embedded in your views and unwilling to change them, so its a fools errand to try. However tomorrow is another day and someone is eating humble pie, or is it a best of three thing?
  19. I'm just off out with a cross of St George flag on my back so unable to reply further today, especially after the drink.
  20. Because he needs more cash? A holiday in Spain again?
  21. There's lots of wrong in the world, which is the biggest, which is the better to right? If you think that this is some sort of invasion wait until the weather really warms up.
  22. Now you're off down whataboutary Street.
  23. No. The film is about the 80's, you're scapegoating a small section, how about just taking another section, say where Milky is beaten to a pulp by a racist? If you take the text out of context you are left with a con.
  24. No run down or any hotels in affluent areas? Nimby-ism?
  25. Chill pill. On what you posted no.
