Horse Chestnut - crane assisted dismantle.

Recommended Posts

I'd imagine because it was a helluva lot quicker, easier and safer than rigging it all down...

That's it in a nut shell, we had a road closure for the day, so had to be done. The cost of a longer road closure and extra labour to rig it down would far out way the hire of a crane. So more efficient and therefore competitive price. Cheers

Was that total lifts an weight for the whole tree or is there more to come?

Nice video btw

Cheers,

That was the weight of all the lifts on the crane day. We spent the day before stripping out as much of the crown as possible and where also rigging on the day of the crane.

We estimated the total weight of the tree to be around 45 t. Was a big old chestnut

Some careful slinging and cutting, well done.

As for the crane operator. Has he done treework before ? painfully slow.

Good vid Sam, thanks for sharing.

BIG tree.

Any more footage or pics of the finale?

Hi Mark thanks. I ran out of battery come the end of the day, so missed my boss Colin picking off the bigger timber. Some of the other guys on the job got some good photos I'll ask them to put them up. Cheers
