Hi R Mac,

Thank you for your review. The chains now come pre-stretched. The chain you had might have been from a previous batch. Some people do find the chains do strech a little, as they do with other quality chains.

Glad you seem happy overall. Hopefully you find them ok to sharpen. You might find your files get worn out quickly. If you do, we recommend our Rotatech files, Chainsaw Chain Files by Rotatech - Northern ARB Supplies

Gave the chain it's 1st sharpen but haven't tried it yet. Sharpening seemed fine, it didn't feel as if the cutters were any harder than the Oregon chain I had on. Still not sure about the amount of stretch but next time it's off the saw I'll compare against the unused one and also against the previously fitted Oregon which has had about 7 months use, never been on a grinder and sharpened to the witness marks.

Do you mean you have to take more off the cutters to get them sharp as they're more badly damaged/worn after a days cutting than say an Oregon chain?

The actual metal seems softer so they damage easier and file down easier hence less chain life. Like the bags they come in though, far better than the boxes that the others come in. There good but don't expect them to last as long as a stihk/husky/ oregan but then again there half the price!

Mine were every bit as tough as the Oregon chains. Cut lots of very dirty oak last week and they stood up very well. Reading back through this thread just looks quality it a bit variable. You could get and excellent one or a not so good one. At half the price there is bound to be some compromise.

Hi all,

Thanks you for all the comments and reviews. The chainsaw aren't variable. It is more to do with the wood people use and their individual experiences. They are a good quality chains. The low costs is due to us being the seller and supplier and therefore not having a middle man taking a cut.
