I've got the older Stihl and have also tried the new one prefer my old one out of those two, seems the Stihl is still built with the biggest engine which is why I went for it, as above they are hard on the arms and shoulders when used all day, the Stihl is perfectly capable of taking off limbs as big as the bar, not used the others to compare.

The only pole pruner ive used is the stihl HT 101,it does the job but its quite fagile.Ive dropped one and the telescopic pole bent.It still works but i can only extend it so far.

If you intend using one all day id invest in a harness of your choice as its brutal on the shoulders at full extension.

HT 131 very powerful but fragile at full extension. Somewhat flexible secondary shaft, which is probably a good thing. Never oil the inner shaft - I did and am still paying the price, long story but just not a good idea. When it's retracted it's very robust, savage torque with a sharp chain is unstoppable.

We need a telescopic polesaw for forestry work.

Choice seems to be Stihl, Husqvarna or Echo:

Husqvarna Pole Saws 525PT5S

Petrol telescopic pole pruners | STIHL

Echo ppt-265es Long Reach Power Pruner

I used the Stihl HT 131 today and it worked well.

I have the Echo PPT-265ES on demo tomorrow.

Anyone used the Husqvarna?

Have you thought about this one?
