Choosing the right blade

Hi all, I have been given a kitty 513 bandsaw which has no blade.

I know what length blade I need but after looking at a couple of sites am now confused as to what width/teeth set and number of teeth. Not helped by the fact that measurements seem to jump from met to imp for different bits!

I want to rip down milled boards, mostly air dried hardwoods but also a bit of spruce/pine/wrc. Thanks john

I cut veneers on my 613 from what I remember was an 8" wide board. Whatever you can get under the guides it can cut so long as the blade is sharp and you take your time.

Oh and make sure the guides are set up right. Does yours have wooden blocks for the side to side support?
