Yes, I was unhappy with that description.

What would you suggest?

God knows. I was going to say something about any act of a nation state being war but that sounds like potentially a lot of argument in itself. I've probably made the situation worse just by posting. In the words of Al Murray, "CAREFUL!"

Whatever it's called is just going to be government murder slang. 'Leveraged outcome executive activity' or somesuch similar bollocks.

'Hard espionage' maybe, like the yanks calling cider hard-cider if it has any alcohol in it.

There does seem to be a lack of flying insects about, I thought it was because of the crappy year of rain we've had.

Conservation group calls on government to ban insect-killing neonicotinoid pesticides outright

Depressing. My lad has hardly ever seen a butterfly.

Lets just hope Labour can honour their promise on this. I don't see why we need all that sugar beet anyway.

Israel's Mossad spy agency planted explosives inside 5,000 pagers imported by Lebanese group...

That’s serious planning and a monstrous failing of security at the same time. I’d not want to be the procurement guy right now.

Yeah, someone hasn't been doing their due diligence. I suppose Hezbollah are going to be reviewing their hiring and firing (squad) procedures.

The more of this story that comes to light, some serious thought put into this. Not sure how pagers work exactly but if these have been in circulation for a while, are they able to be tracked - 2000+ pagers giving location details and movements, plus the paranoia of not using them again.

Surely we’d be as well off just sending Russia a memo reminding them to attack us within the next 4-5 years before we’re ready for them?

The European Union must be quick to increase its defences as Russia may be ready for a confrontation in six to eight years, the nominee to be the EU's first...

Tub thumping Steve (hopefully)

Sending a signal to Russia that Western/central Europe is prepared (or preparing) for the scenario.

Bearing in mind the difficulties the Russians are having subduing Ukraine, it’s unlikely they’d move any further west at the moment.
