That's an odd conclusion. I wish even some politicians thought like me to be honest, the country would be a better place indeed. IMO obviously!

I was merely countering a ridiculous claim made the other day: that illegal immigrants, that arrived yesterday, are somehow breaking our NHS. Since I'd just had first hand experience of the situation. They're not. The NHS is clearly fooked, but it's not because of them. Obesity, creeping privatisation, piss poor management, a broken social care system, an aging and increasingly unhealthy population and a whole host of other issues are doing far more damage than illegal immigrants. That's just fake news for the hard of comprehension to lap up.

I'm not against being negative about sapiens of any flavour. Of course there'll be wrong 'uns and idle 'uns among immigrants, (legal and illegal), and if we had a properly functioning immigration system in the UK then we could and should be keeping them out. I'm not buying the idea that there's a higher proportion though, compared to our indigenous population. I'd wager that their average work ethic is better than that of our own cohort of bloated benefit bums. We don't see many British people working their arses off for a pittance doing hard or tedious graft like fruit picking/car washing/caring/parcel delivery work/nail bars/hospital cleaning etc etc. It's far easier just to sit at home on benefits.

So are you saying Afghan immigrants are not 20 times more likely to commit a sexual offence than a uk citizen?? That’s just a simple example to wager against your claim.

Hi Johnsond - Not sure how you came to all those conclusions, i don't recall anyone making all those assertions, but hey ho! There is so much there to unpick, it would waste too much time for us all. Better to disagree agreeably and move on.

Hi Oldfeller and Stubby - I kind of agreed with your posts. However differently we all view the world, the end result is that one way or the other we are all heading for hell in a handcart. Enjoy your dinners!

I was being a sarcastic twat. It is after all a forum for tree surgeons as I was informed earlier.

us old feckers like me and Stubby will be long gone, but some of you young'ns are gonna  have to live in that hell. dinners for those poor sods left  might have to be what you can scavenge or steal.

all these fools that think government,,, any government, is going to halt this is deluded. Society is fecked.

we are fortunate, we can look back and consider the good times we have had, and maybe lament a few regrets too, but for some there will be less to look back upon with such a pleasant memory.

I realised at the age of 10 I was never gonna change this world,, so I concentrated on not allowing it to change me.

those close to me know that to be accurate.

On that last sentence I think we can all agree. That and the fact that we all enjoyed our dinners.

Those two statistics should be an eye opener for anyone waffling on about how immigration is wonderful and essential , 1984 ( The NHS functioned no differently with immigration levels of that period) is the year I joined the army, I’ve paid in to the system my entire life, there’s no way what we see around us nowadays is sustainable or fair.  I agree with your assessment that at some point the shit will hit the fan big time in the UK.

I take it you don’t live in London BillQ?

Matters not a jot, are we not drowning in a sea of migrants? You pick an area where ethnic diversity has been a big thing over the years, however London's population has only recovered from a drop in population from 1939 to 2020/21 and who made up that gap? Windrush, Eastern Europeans, etc or if you prefer migrants, without whom London would have become a bit of a ghost town.

Reversing the question, have you been to central Sunderland and South Tyneside recently?

So just to get things straight over the last few posts it seems like.

No, you're just being silly and trying to create a set of goalposts no one can score through and setting up one for yourself that even a Swedish women's goalkeeper could score in.
