I'm no expert on global energy supply but that doesn't seem to be a prerequisite in this discussion.

I'd suggest that the reason that our electric is so expensive in the UK is because we're so reliant on natural gas, mainly from Russia. More expensive than France and Germay, as mentioned in the initial article. In the case of the former because they've had lots of nuclear for ages and in the later because they rapidly developed alternative energy sources when Putin kicked off in Ukraine. We were much less proactive for whatever reason.

So, UK electric isn't actually the most expensive in the world because of net zero targets. Quite the opposite I believe in fact. The sooner we move away from NG, and other fossil fuels, and build an energy infrastructure based on domestic renewable sources the better. For all the obvious reasons. If we could even start building some of that infrastructure, rather than letting China sell it all to us, it would do wonders for our flagging manufacturing industry as well. Win win win situation.

Oh yeah, not forgetting trying to reduce energy consumption in addition to cleaner sources. Relatively easy things like insulating houses, and reducing unnecessary car journeys.

Simples. And absolutely nothing to do with 'fighting age', whatever the hell that's about.

So.... if there is no wind blowing how are electricity prices jumping because of it?

Once again you are talking pure deflective BS

Renewables contributed how much over the past week or ten days ?

merely an observation SP. You can’t give any answers can you or proof of your claims.

“ fighting age” 🤷‍♂️ask SP its another obscure claim he made with zero evidence to back it up.
So renewables all the way eh 42

You do realise how little it has contributed in the last week to ten days don’t you ??
Net zero is according to you not increasing people’s bills or energy costs ??

So we are reliant on gas mainly from Russia are we ??
You do realise we need the correct grade of steel to manufacture the jackets, tps, monopolies etc ??

The machinery  and gearbox etc within the nacelle is not lubricated by fairy dust, you know that too ??

Im all for looking after the planet but you guys and unfortunately the current milliband led mongs are deluded as to the reality of what’s going on in the renewables game.
We will need oil and gas for well beyond our lifetimes, let’s obtain as much as we can from domestic sources.
Net zero is an ideology not a plan.
While you are at it 42 tell me where I can get a decent electric  4wd crew cab for sub 50k that will tow 3500kg and do at least 350mile on a single charge. I have a back up diesel generator for when the wind doesn’t blow and the sun doesn’t shine just like the past ten days or so up here, in particular once all those nasty gas powered stations have been closed to save the planet.

So in summary... an hour or so ago it "net Zero was generating and look at the electricity prices", and now "no net zero and look at the high electricity pries".. so which is it to be... or maybe... whether it is windy or not it has no bearing on the price of electricity at all? Make your mind up! It is all down to gas prices.

Still the new Government are meant to be looking at breaking that link... which will lead to lower prices. I know that you will choke on your morning coco-pop when you read that.

You'll pick it up quick enough, he's dropped most of the obsession with Covid, become a bit of a sour looser that Labour won the election and is trying his hardest to be an applogist for America's Rapist-Elect, the rest is pretty much the same with his obsession that oil is going to be king forever, hates anything electric, and general anger at the world.

ITbh I’m not a great fan of electric cars, wind turbines get on my tits a wee bit, probably due to my leccy being increased to pay for it. By 150 percent over last 5 yrs. that’s pretty grim. But, having said that, we’re due a grim decade or two to sort out the absolute mess we’ve become.

What a load of total BS by the biggest blagger on this forum. All you have done is punt out the same shite you do every day with zero evidence or proof. You are a ****************ing embarrassment of a man.
you obviously ain’t looked at the covid thread blagger 🤷‍♂️

I don’t really give a shit about labour winning, on that note I’ll ask you to provide any evidence of this latest BS SP claim ie “ a sore loser” that was a foregone conclusion, let’s face it the tories lost it labour didn’t win it if you look at voting patterns and percentages but that’s neither here nor there and is democracy , the tories were crap in the end, labour are worse 🤷‍♂️. These scenarios and this anger you keep trying so hard to create and waffle on about are in your head SP nowhere else. You seriously need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror and realise without the anonymity of the internet you are nothing. Where else could a so called man live in the shadows making up pure bollocks and lies yet literally hiding every aspect of his identity and life. ****************ing pathetic.
How you green zealots getting on with sorting me a pick up to the specs I asked for then ??

Read back a few posts you will see the same trend lockdown covid fanatics are now climate fanatics. Lots of accusations and the same word salad BS but not much else.
Apparently wind and fairy dust is gonna see us leading the world to net zero 👍

There’s some awesome bitching on” Potus” since trump utterly annihilated the woke wanker LGBTQ plus bollocks left.
