A major plus you arb boys have is qualifying for aggricultural occupancy. Lots of smallholdings with a bungalow on built post war.

 

Still need best part of 400k though in most areas south of brum..

Buying a piece of land is not easy or cheap nowadays , even worse if you want to use it as a log yard of some sort , neighbours are quick to complain about any noise or traffic , councils seem to think you belong on industrial land which is virtually always expensive plus rates !! ... i have recently bought 4 acres of woodland in Dartmoor National Park and will be able to do my own low key activities but it is so easy to fall foul of planners /councillors / residents etc ... If you do woodland management for a customer you may be able to strike a deal to use a small area , I did approach a farmer I know vaguely about renting some woodland ,as he never does anything with it ( even cut his own wood ) I would of thought he would be happy with some income from it but unless it was several thousand a year he just was not interested ...
