People only care about what they are doing in their own little world.

If they researched before putting up bird boxes they would find out aluminium is kinder to the equipment that may have to cut through the timber one day

Try banging an aluminum nail ( if there is such a thing ) into a bit of Holm Oak or similar ! :001_smile:

These hobby conservationists have plenty of time and make a mornings project out of it. They can drill a tight hole.:001_tt2:

I've found all sorts in woods, cricket balls, marbles, the wise was a big iron bracket probably 6 inches long by 4 inches wide by probably half inch thick with 2 very thick and long coach bolts, also had iron and steel like small h sections in middle of trees where it was probably a fence post and tree just consumed it, obviously had dirt and stones in there, barbed wire is another thing I've come across
